Who Does The C&p ?

Question

First, thanks to all of you that have posted and given me advice. Especially Berta & Carlie.

Is the Psych Dr. that I am seeing now, "the first and only", preparing a C&P?

I really don't understand the processes here. After reading through notes that that he has written, mistakes and all, the Q&A's look very similar to what some of you have posted as C&P's.

Is that the way it works or will someone else actually at some point do a C&P?

I'm lost as ever.

I know that I have practically begged for counseling, but so far nothing has happened there.

I know Carlie has suggested that I go to the ER..........ain't happening, I can not be institutionalized and lose my job.

If I lose my job, I have lost my battle and my life.

I guess I am expecting too much too soon! I can't continue on like this.

If you need care, take a day and go to the ER, where they will send you to mental health. do an intake and probably give you meds. Unless you are an immediate danger to yourself or others, they are not going to hospitalize you. If you've already filed a claim, they will send you a letter explaining what you need to win your claim and eventually schedule a C&P exam, for you, w/a shrink type doctor, that is "not" treating you.

Great reply.

Huge ditto on . . .

Unless you are clearly in immediate danger to yourself or others, they are not going to either

hospitalize NOR institutionalize you - whatever you want to call it.

coastie - keep an eye on the flip side of this too -

you've mentioned hopelessness and suicidal ideation several times.

You posted,

If you to get a really desperate time and put a plan into action,

you'd be gone - dead, and that job would not matter anymore - for any reason.

MH counseling, therapy, treatment - starts slow and builds - it's a relationship of trust

that develops.

You've been holding this all in for years - there is no few magic sessions or pills to fix

it quick - it just does not work that way.

If you truly feel you can't continue on this way and are making any suicidal plans

in your thought pattern - go to the ER.

If Robin Williams would have made it to an ER - he might still be around.
