jaytyus
I've been approved for nsc pension $1037 starting 1/1/15. I've been drawing ssi $731 for 15 months. Do I have to pay back the ssi payments?
HadIt.com Elder Pete53 Posted January 7, 2015 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted January 7, 2015 You might but most don't. You can always say you can not afford to pay back if they ask for it. Veterans deserve real choice for their health care.

Do I have to pay back the ssi payments? Just make sure you do not spend an ssi check after 1/1/15and you will be ok. Do yourself a favor.....buy some gold and silver! HadIt.com Elder Philip Rogers Posted January 7, 2015 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted January 7, 2015 You won't owe anything to SSI but you should keep the SSI amount for January, and not spend it, just in case. The VA may pay you the difference between your SSI ($731) and the VA pension ($1037), which is $306. The VA generally tries to have SS pay their part of it but since it's SSI and not SSDI, they may just pay the full amount of $1037. If you get any additional SSI payments, you will need to pay the additional payments back. pr
