If the VA granted 100% with a P & T status, they will include the apps for Chapter 35 educational benefits, with a statement explaining them, and possibly make a statement about CHAMPVA.

My Chap 35 apps ( one for me and my daughter came with my initial accrued award.

A few weeks later I got a letter from VA saying to apply for CHAMPVA, as they have their own web site.

But it is the P & T status that grants the spouse these benefits.

You could obtain a dependents allowance for a wife. Call the V.A. and ask them for the form you fill out to get this. It's about an extra $150.00 per month. Return the filled out form to V.A. with a certified copy of your marriage certificate attached via certified mail return receipt requested. Don't forget to sign the form before sending it to V.A.

ChampVA is an important benefit. It is better Medical Coverage than I get from VA

It's good coverage if doctors in your area will participate. In mine, many do not, due to payment problems.

It has a history of being worse than the VA Fee Paid Program.
