A Veteran is a person who served this country. Treat them with respect.

A Disabled Veteran is a person who served this country and bears the scars of that service regardless of when or where they served.

Treat them with the upmost respect. I do. Rejection is not a sign of failure. Failure is not an option, Medical opinions and evidence wins claims. Trust in others is a virtue but you take the T out of Trust and you are left with Rust so be wise about who you are dealing with.

I was there in 1972.

In 1978 at the age of 28 I was diagnosed with cervical cancer.

My daughter has PCOS and my son is bipolar and has had large motor muscle problems since birth.

Two of my grandchildren were born with heart problems.

I feel lucky that our problems are negligable in comparison to most.

i am so sorry to hear this. because i enlisted for the army security agency option, i took my basic at fort jackson. was in the second company of all women to complete our training there. maybe, it was a good thing i was never stationed at mcclellan.

How long were you there?

I was only there for 3 mos, but in the old chem school area the entire time. The women's barracks were being rennovated, we were assigned to old WWII asbestos laden buildings and ran and marched thru areas of buried chemicals and radiation laden dirt. Our company area was sprayed by aircraft a couple of times by chemicals the army won't own up to...

But we were females, and at that time in the military considered "expendable".

I am sorry to hear that you have been dealing with all those medical issues and fighting the VA. I was there for about 3 months for Basic. We were in the newer MP tng barracks. But as you know, we marched all over that base and spent time in the field. I remember crawling through tunnels that had CS powder in them. It makes me wonder what else we crawled through. I was 21 then. Now I am turning 54, I was diagnosed with ddd in cervical spine, hypothyroidism and bipolar II. I am also borderline diabetic. I am not sure if any of this is caused by Ft,Mc, except for the diabetes. The only person in my family that had it was my dad but he did three tours in Veitnam. I am SC for the above illness except diabetes.

I am diabetic also, and have decided to file for s/c due to the fact that we were exposed to all the chemicals that make up AO.

Logically...it would be "more likely than not" if we were exposed to the chemicals that makeup AO, and diabetis is presumptive to AO..............

We'll see what VA logic says..
