icecube1986 Posted April 27, 2015 Share Posted April 27, 2015 I RECENTLY SUBMITTED A CLAIM FOR SLEEP APNEA .......I COMPLAINED SEVERAL TIMES ABOUT MY SLEEPING ISSUES AND BEING TIRED AND MY WIFE COMPLAINING ABOUT MY SNORING ..I HAD A SLEEP STUDY DONE WHILE ON ACTIVE DUTY 2012 AND THE RESULTS CAME BACK THAT I DIDN'T HAVE SLEEP APNEA BUT I DID HAVE A SLEEPING DISORDER...I WAS GIVEN THE SNORING MOUTHPIECE , LUNESTA , AND....METHACARBAMOL TO HELP WITH THE SLEEP DISORDER BUT IT ONLY WORKED FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS I HAD THE MOUTHPIECE ADJUSTED AND STILL WAS TIRED DURING THE DAY AND WIFE STILL COMPLAINED ABOUT ME SNORING ......AFTER I GOT OUT I KEPT TALKING TO MY DOC ABOUT MY SLEEP ISSUES AND ASKED FOR ANOTHER SLEEP STUDY AND THE RESULTS CAME BACK SEVERE SLEEP APNEA ....I SUBMITTED A FULLY DEVELOPED CLAIM WITH STATEMENTS FROM MY WIFE AND MY A BATTLE BUDDY FROM DEPLOYMENT THAT ALSO COMPLAINED ABOUT MY SNORING...AND THE RESULTS FROM BOTH SLEEP STUDIES I KNOW A LOT OF CASES GET DENIED FOR SERVICE CONNECTION BUT ITS WORTH A TRY I THINK ....JUST ASKING FOR OPINIONS Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I personally believe you would be golden, which SMRs showing and recording the signs of sleep apnea, but make your case rock solid. Have the doc use the magic words. Wow that is a strong point that was made by GP. Listen here it's not the diagnosis you should be after, it is evidence of the symptoms while in service. You got that and that will be KICK YOUR TEETH
