How Does The The "internals Of A Vlj Review Work ?

Rate this question

Question

Hi All, I noticed that the date on VLG review changed from May 28 to July 9, 2015.

How do the internal handlings of a BVA appeal work between the VLG and his or her crew?

I called their "Paula" and he said every time they do work on it the date changes.

Should I expect to here something soon?

Very interesting.

Exactly when, prior to the actual BVA hearing, does the VARO or the BVA send out the "90 day N & M Evidence submission cut off letter?"

Just as an aside, I was looking at USCAVC orders and opinions for 2014, appears there were only 32. Is that possible? Seems like a very small number, am I missing something? That is the next appellate step if the BVA denies a Vet's NOD, right?

Most of the time the CAVC decides to "remand" cases back to the BVA (with instructions). Rarely do they make THE decision. I don't think the remands are counted in the small number you quoted for 2014. Most "order and opinions" they do make become "case law". Not every case that comes before them rises to that standard.
