Question

I am 50% service connected for ptsd. Had 2 episodes at work that extremely aggravated the ptsd. The pysciatrist for my employer would not let me return to work. He recommended that they either reassign me to another position or put me on disability. He to made the diagnoses for PTSD. Can anyone tell me what my chances are for increase. Oh yea my employer refused to reassign me

Sorry to hear of your issues bud, but remember that all Diagnoses pretty much need to be thru the VA, and you should also be seeking treatment there too. Good luck and keep us posted

if you are already SC for PTSD then you are diagnosed and official in the eyes of the VA. If your PTSD is worse now (consult the ratings criteria) you can apply for an increase.

However, however however.

dont rely on the company psych for this. get his report and notes as more evidence. I would consult a Independent Medical Examiner (psychologist) to get a new dbq and opinion/report on your condition illustrating the aggravation and negative slide in your symptoms. then gather all of that along with some sworn declarations from co workers/boss/etc to help bolster your claim. If your employer still employs you but is just not reassigning you i dont htink you have a good chance at IU, if you are let go, then perhaps you will.

70% - PTSD

->50% - OSA (Secondary to PTSD)

30% - Bilateral Pes Planus w/Plantar Fasciitis

30% - Migraines

10% - Tinnitus

20% - Back

0% - bilateral shin splints

initial diagnosis does need to be, no ifs ands or buts, but he is already diagnosed and SC for PTSD so he doesnt need a VA doc necessarily to show the symptoms are worse. aprivate psych can do that. whether or not thats enough for a rating or the VA schedules a C&P exam is another thing.
