21 Million VA malpractice payout

Berta

Question

https://www.disabledveterans.org/2015/04/06/shocker-veterans-affairs-pay-21-million-malpractice/

The worse thing any vet or their spouses or survivors can do is to feel something was not right with their VA health care and then do nothing about having a real IMO doctor go over the medical records.

It is an expense that may or may not reveal substantial malpractice but ,one way or the other ,that IMO will give them Peace of Mind.

The link holds the pdf of this case ,won in the Federal Court.

I have not read it yet. Either the VA's settlement offer was not acceptable or the VA might have even denied the FTCA case...

The veteran is still alive, but his wife apparently filed this action against the VA , due to malpractice on the veteran's initial stroke.

Well, if a veteran's life is worth 20 mil, then those with service connected conditions that are considered to eventually be or are morbid should be able

to have survivors file for at least the difference between what the VA paid out during the veteran's lifetime and the 20mil!  (Fat Chance that'll ever happen!)

I don't know how it might taste much worse, it's already quite awful!
