Question

So the status of my claim for migraines changed last week to completed and on my list of disabilities it has it listed there as 0 percent and service connected.. now i haven't received my brown envelope yet. Now the question is, should i assume the rating i got is what is listed on my disabilities list? or is it not updated until i receive my brown packet with the decision?

Below is what it shows.. Also i checked my letters and they are not up to date , they are still posting the same date as when i first started my original claim

Rated Disabilities

Disability Rating Decision Related To Effective Date
unspecified anxiety disorder, depressive disorder and other trauma and stressor related disorder (also claimed as PTSD, sleep disturbances/insomnia, severe mood swings, suicidal/homicidal thoughts, hallucinations, social isolation) 50% Service Connected

If Ebennies is showing 0% S/C that is a pretty accurate indication you got the S/C at 0% with the date of February 2016.  The good news is at least you are S/C for them and can now apply for an increase as they get worse.

I know sometimes Ebennies is not reliable but when it comes to the disabilities listings, at least for me, it's pretty accurate.

Right after my claim closed on 3/30/16, it showed my disabilities updated from the decision and I hadn't received the BBE yet.

I would wait for a final decision before I got upset, but I can tell you my experience with migraines.  I was initially rated at 10 or 20 percent, cant' remember that was a long time ago but it took over 5 years of consistent neurologist appointments, documentation, etc. for the VA to increase me to 50%.    I never once showed anyone any log, they used my treatment history and my specialist's notes along with the insane amount of medications we have tried to at least lessen their length and severity.
