tdiu Would I Get Paid at 70% or 100%?

I have a question about how retroactive compensation.  The rater finds that I have a disability at 70%.  I know that over 70% disability I am paid at the TDIU rate.  Would I receive retro compensation at the rate of 70% or at 100%?

If you are TDIU, then, yes, you get paid at the 100% rate.  This includes Retro, up to the "effective date" of your TDIU.  

But WAIT!   

You have to subtract anything you have already received from your retro. 

Example (only):

Lets say you are married, and your 100 percent is 3000 per month.  

But, you WERE 70 percent, and lets use round numbers and say that you already got 1000 per month.  

In this example, you will collect another 2000 per month retro.  3000 minus the 1000 you already collected.
