Soon to file a claim. Does joining the reserves affect this?

I tried searching for this topic but only find similar questions about pay. 

 

But my question is:

I separated from the Army months ago  (still within my 1 year presumptive period) and am now joining the Army reserves. Can I still file my VA claim within the 1 year of ETS? What repercussions and negatives should I be aware about by joining the reserves in regards to my soon-to-submit VA claim? And vice versa?
