When will va.gov "Status" change

Rate this question

Question

Hello,

va.gov has shown my "ISSUES" as closed and Granted for just over 2 months. However, the "status" a Judge is reviewing your claim has not changed.

Can someone give me an idea why "the judge is reviewing your claim" is taking so long to update?

Is there a reason why it is taking so long to change?

Thank you..

We can't say when they will change the status  we simply don't know that.

If a judge is reviewing your records  you must have filed the HRL    This means your claim must be reviewed by a senior DRO because they must not could make a decision in the supplemental claim,? if this is the reason (Issues)  you will just have to wait  until the judge makes a decision or remands your claim back to the RO if you file at the BVA this is usually what happens  it maybe  a condition you filed for  or maybe secondary to a condition you filed for  or they just don't know how to rate your conditions that you did file for  at least the one   the other two they must made a decision to grant  and they are checking on the last one  it could be in your favor or it may not be? You will just have to wait on all your decisions

OR UNLESS YOU HAVE A LARGE AMOUNT OF RETRO COMING  THIS TAKES A WHILE.

Buck52,

My appeal is at the Board of Veterans Appeal (BVA). I do not have a supplemental claim that needs to be reviewed by a senior DRO. It appears by the Grant noted on the ISSUES tab, that the BVA Judge has made a decision 2 months ago. Your idea that they may be trying to figure out the secondary condition of the earlier effective date may be the delay. Or as you also indicated, there may be a large amount of retro involved as well.

I thought at least after two months of being granted, a BVA decision letter would have been sent out. I understand that it will be held up at the RO.

Thanks for the response and information.

Buck is correct.  Even thought the judge granted the appeal, it still has to come back to the Regional office for review and implementation.  Until this is done you will not see a change.

My current timeline for this was 3-4 months to get sent to the regional office and 6-9 months to get it implemented.  We all hope it moves faster, but the VA moves at their own pace.

I think it was broken soldier who pointed out that ebenefits and VA.gov are updated "by third party contractors" not VA employees.

VA is not "bound" by what ebenefits says.  "The layer" in between VA rating specialists and those who update ebenefits is likely by design, highly likely for security reasons.

The idea is "ONLY" the VA employees "actively working the Veterans claim" has access to his private cfile, not the entire VA plus contractors.

The more people who have "keys" to your building, the harder it is to narrow down "who dunnit" when something turns up missing.

This would include an electronic key.

Mostly, the security of IT systems is based on "need to know".  Does Kamela Harris have a "need to know" information in your cfile?  NO.

She is not granted access.  Does former Sec Shinsiki "need to know"?  NO.  No access.

Does the supervisor of the rating specialist working the case "need to know".  Yes.  Access granted.  But, not FULL access to every Veterans records "only those" he is immediately supervising.    There should never be millions of people all over the country with access to your VBMS file..that, in itself, is a security problem which would rear its ugly head very fast.

So, an IT administrator carefully administers "permissions", ensuring that only those in the need to know have access, regardless of their "rank" in the VA.

IT administration is complex, and you need to go to school many years to understand it.  Also, you need to have experience on a smaller scale administering IT SYSTEMS, without security breaches, before you would be put in charge of administering VA's IT permissions.

When a rating specialist was assigned a new claim, after finishing an old one, he would be given "keys" (username and password) to access that Vets file, by his supervisor.

Probably the only one in the entire VA who is given a key not actively involved in a Vets case would be a systems administrator..he is like a "locksmith" who knows how to make electonic keys to everything in the VA.  People dont understand how powerful the administrator is, get on his bad side and your paycheck could be delayed for months.
