Here is a hypothetical.  Has anyone ever seen the VA make a partial decision on a Board grant, and issue an effective date to keep the payment amount under the $25k point, for which they need more signatures, to possibly get the payment sent out faster.  Then finish necessary development and fix the effective date to issue the rest of the back pay?  Just being hopeful that is what may be the situation with mine.  It is flagged as hardship, so maybe they hoping they were just keeping the back pay number down for now to get it out the door faster while they finished some other stuff.

In your case no, but you never know. 

In your case meaning, since your disability is showing 90%, not sure what/how a partial grant would do. The next level will either keep you at 90% or increase your rating to TDIU or 100% scheduler not including any SMC if awarded.

Sorry I haven’t updated my profile.  I’m at 100% as of the partial grant that was issued.  Effective date of 7/2020, but the initial claim was filed 11/2018.

The BVA granted me a grant with a remand and the RO tried not to implement my BVA granted decision. It took about 14 (fourteen) months before I got my retro, and my remand is still pending several years later.

My thing is they have already paid me some retro, but not to the right effective date.  Just trying to be hopeful that I won’t have to appeal again

After my retro the RO denied my rating increase even though the BVA has already set me effective date and forced the RO to restore my rating increase. Mine is not only a continued pursued claim it is also based on 38 CFR 3.156b.
