Remember when there was a requirement to see a patient within 15 minutes of registering for the appointment? And there is a requirement to answer MyHealth eVet messaging within 3 days. These pressures put doctors in the position of having to see as many patients as possible and they're pressed to get a patient in and out. So, beyond the pay there are problems with increasing requirements and changes nearly weekly, from every new exec that comes in with a cheeky new idea, and every change of Secretary of the Dept of Vet Affairs. There are continuous training tasks that must be done monthly. These are facility driven. It's nuts. All the reports...endless reports. Endless documentation. There are higher salaries though. It is surprising that a doctorate in psych can earn just as much if not more than some surgeons. I think the highest salary I have seen is nearly $200k, and that's a lot for bla bla bla. The highest I have seen for a specialty surgeon is $320k. There must be allowances, despite the congressional cap, and I have no idea what the administrative requirements are for exceeding the cap. One need only look at the position openings at USA.gov. There are many positions announced internally at a facility, that are not posted on USA.gov. It's more surprising to find a specialist who has stayed at a VAMC than to find vacant positions. Things change rapidly at a VAMC, not just the docs, but the administrative capacity as well. My VAMC was overwhelmed, especially after the Obama Care mandate.

They are treating you, they are not in the best place to be objective when it comes to VBA. Many don't want to deal with it- their job is to be clinicians not to be gatekeepers and examiners for VA benefits. This is true. The treating doctors are very reluctant to do DBQs or make statements for the purpose of claims. They don't want to enter an adversarial relationship with the patient. It's like the difference between a workmans comp doctor and your primary care doctor,

Smh. But they can't send you to the va hospital because they don't have special doctors. Ok. I like to see were the dav has take a veteran to a private company comp exam. Never going to happen. Like I said I feel the private company thing is not a help to a veteran apply for benfits. the private company qtc is owe by Lockheed and martin. like I said the veterans affairs has a choice were to send veterans
0 Moderator broncovet Posted February 6, 2022 Moderator Share Posted February 6, 2022 Once, a friend told me, "Pick" your battles. Most of the time, honey attracts more flies than vinegar. 99% of the time, its better to cooperate with VA, rather than fight them on EVERYTHING, especially if it doesnt make much of a difference long term. Yea, its inconvenient to have to travel to a c and p exam. Have DAV take you, like I previously suggested, and make friends in the long van ride with fellow Vets or the dav driver. Bring a lunch, or ask the driver to stop and get you one too. Fighting this may not help any other Vets. YOu dont really know the other doctors, and what their schedule is, so making a blanket statement that "The VA hospital has staff to do the exam", is probably inaccurate. Its not incredibly healthy for you, to think the VA is "out to get you" 100 percent of the time, "even if" that were true. I would not fight VA on this, I would just go to the exam, and take advantage of a "day trip" to see another town. You may well find things that are very interesting in that town, if you look. You can constantly be on the lookout for negatives, or you can look for the good in others. Either way, you will probably find what you seek. This is one battle I would decline to fight, because the possible benefits from winning are insignificant, while thee effort to fight the battle would be great. I like to fight battles where I have a great chance of winning the prize, and it does not take much effort. A fish swimming in the stream has to make a decision each time a bug comes by: "Is it worth the effort to chase that bug or should I wait until there is an easier bug to come by?" If the fish spends more energy chasing the bug than the calories the bug contains, the fish will starve. They must pick the easy ones, at least some of the time. The big fish figured out how to get food without the consumption of too many calories, better than the smaller fish. Lots of times the big fish eats the smaller fish. I would rather be the big fish, how about you? They live longer.
0 Mr cue
Lol ok so veterans should never say anything about a comp exam system that is set up for veterans to fail. Some veterans may like that they can't get a copy of there comp exams until months most of the time after the decision is made. Some my like dealing with SSI and workman comp doctors. Who have no ideal of how the veteran affairs system work. An are now turning it into SSI workman comp at the regional office level. My opinion Some may like drive miles some time hrs away for a exams. Some may like have comp exams in hotel room take ex rays in parking lots. And that is ok that why the va has two system the comp and pension department in the hospital And a private company contractor. Community care and va hospital care. Was to be same thing. For veterans who didn't live near a va hospital. Read up why it was change Now is the va try to make and say that the hospital no longer do exams yes. Are that tell there va workers to schedule private exams yes. Now like my self and many other if you press the issue you get it at the hospital and sometime ppl follow the rules in My case it was a ace exam and the private company said they wasn't going to do a ace exam with out a in person exam. I wasn't going to anymore exams. They send it to the va hospital. Everyone is entitled to the way they feel and fight. Some sit an wait years for a decision other fight for a decision An I will never be one to say the va errors are not on purpose. So save that one 1 hour ago, broncovet said: Have DAV take you, like I previously suggested, and make friends in the long van ride with fellow Vets or the dav driver. Bring a lunch, or ask the driver to stop and get you one too. I am going to just let it go. I never said anything about me needing a ride and you call the dav and see if they are take veterans to private company comp exam and HR and half away. And post your answers. Smh. Like I said the veterans affairs has not got rid of the comp and pension department in the hospital. So they can still do exam and ace medical opinion. An it is up to the veterans affairs we're they send your case. An like I said there are veterans who can't travel hrs to a private company comp exam. Last this has nothing to do with me or my case. Lol I think I posted about my friend

"in my town", the DAV will pick up and transport Veterans, even if its 100 miles. You see the Vans all over the hospital parking lots. Va cant be "everthing to everyone". One or more Veteran

No, they can't. If we try to schedule an exam and the VAMC is not accepting exams for certain things, or at all, then they aren't. Stop telling people what you *think* VA can and cannot do. Becau

You are fighting the wrong fight, if the veteran cannot travel that far the veteran can have the LHI reschedule the exam. Two/three weeks is not going to change his rating effective date. You are stil
