C&P exam

Question

I actually found my C&P exam on va.gov.  First time I've ever seen one in my medical records. This one was done at a VAMC. I don't think the contracted ones show up in there. It took 30 days to show up in there but at least I didn't have to file a FOIA to get it.

Only the VAMC C&P exams show up in your on va.gov/myhealthevet. But the VA puts a 30 day hold on them before they release them for us to see. We used be able to go the local VAMC, fill out a request, and they would print out copies of contract exams but they cut that out a few years ago.

Yes I use to see my VA C&P exams within about 10 days on myhealthvet.

How long does a FOIA request take for a QTC or LHI C&P Exam???.  Any recent experiences???

The VAMC started putting a 30 day hold on releasing the exams on myhealthevet. I remember having an exam at the VAMC a couple of years ago. I waited a few days for it to hit my records, but when I finally checked there was a note in my records that said the results would be held for 30 days. Doing this, making it tougher to get copies of contract exams, and taking the 48 hr VSO review only makes it harder for us to challenge them before the claim is adjudicated. All this under the guise of helping them process claims faster. It only pushes more claims into appeals and now they are backlogged.

I think you can go to your local VARO if they are back open and get copies of contract exams.

I think it normally takes around 6 to 8 weeks but for whatever reason it seems that the VARO won't release the contract C & P exams until after they make their decision. I requested a copy of my last two LHI C & P exams and I finally made an appointment to go to the local VARO and they handed me a copy of the exams, but they completely ignored the examiners medical opinions. It seems they knew that I would disagree with their decisions and file an appeal. I am currently waiting on my BVA decisions.
