What Rating is Expected for High Blood Pressure? (New Agent Orange Presumptive Illness)

Rate this question

Max Rommel

Question

The Pact Act has expanded the list of Agent Orange presumptive illnesses to include high blood pressure, aka hypertension. My assumption is that many, if not most surviving Vietnam veterans have this medical condition. Does anyone have an idea what disability rating the VA will give to vets with high blood pressure who take one or more meds to treat it?

OK maybe the VA is not to blame, but it is a shame.  I have been screwed by the VA so many times it is a reaction to blame them.

Not trying to take away from your frustration, just trying to separate blame into buckets.

(I AM NOT A RATER- I work the claims BEFORE they are rated, annotating medical evidence in your records, VA and Legal documents,  and DA/DD forms- basically a paralegal/vso/etc except that I also evaluate your records based on Caluza and try to justify and schedule the exams that you go to based on whether or not your records have enough in them to warrant those)

That's ok,  the VA are the ones we deal with most of the time.  I know Congress screws us most of the time.  Our compensation should be 50% higher and it is Congress to blame.  All those guys saying "thank you for your service" and they want to keep compensation very low considering the true cost of living.  I get 100%, "S" and spousal rate for my wife and we could not live on that without my pension and our SSA.  I live in Florida and the cost of living has soared in recent years.
