Burial benefits and military funeral

Question

Who do I need to contact for a military honors funeral for my grandfather. The doctors at UMC in New Orleans say he doesn't not have much time left. Any information will help. Thanks in Advance

If you use a VA cemetery and want to be buried you still must buy the box and pay for the service.  That could cost thousands.  You can be cremated and have your remains stored at a VA cemetery.  I mean when you are dead you are dead.  Why not let your widow/widower keep the money.  You won't feel a thing.
