0 Moderator brokensoldier244th Posted October 21, 2022 Moderator Share Posted October 21, 2022 It pulls data from the same place that vbms does- that being the system that holds all your claims and the one through which they are all worked. It’s not instantaneous but it does update at least once a day (va.gov, not vbms- vbms is real time) The Earth is degenerating these days. 0 Moderator broncovet Posted October 21, 2022 Moderator Share Posted October 21, 2022 (edited) ebenefits and va.gov are notoriously unreliable and out of date. Most Vet advocates never suggest relying upon ebenefits/ va.gov but instead wait for the envelope. I wish I had a buck for everytime my ebenefits/va.gov was: a. Inaccurate b. Incomplete c. Not up to date. d. IN conflict with other information. e. In conflict with itself. f. Unclear g. Ambigious h. Just plain wrong. Its history is so bad, I rarely check it. Exception: Letters section. If you can print out a letter that says you are xx percent SC, its probably right. VA does not want Veterans running around with official letters that say they are SC when they are not. Has anyone received documentation via us mail stating grant, remand, denial, and va.gov says waiting for vlj? For fun and giggles, I just checked ebenefits. It is normally one of the last VA sites to be updated. I have two appeals at the BVA (Board), one is a Joint remand, and one is a Direct Review. Checking ebenefits there is no status update. Checking va.gov, my joint remand is being reviewed by a Veteran Law Judge and my Direct Review is still sitting waiting to be sent to a judge. So, ebenefits and Va.gov are two different animals and I would say that Va.gov is more accurate because my Joint Remand is more recent because it is a legacy claim/appeal and has more priority. My intentions are to help, my advice maybe wrong, be your own advocate and know what is in your C-File and the 38 CFR that governs your disabilities and conditions. Do your own homework. No one knows the veteran’s symptoms like the veteran. Never Give Up. I do not give my consent for anyone to view my personal VA records.
0 Moderator brokensoldier244th Posted March 18, 2023 Moderator Share Posted March 18, 2023 (edited) E- Benefits has been sunsetting for over the last year. About the only thing it still tracks is some legacy appeals. Most everything else is at VA.gov. Benefits is going away. Don't use it unless something on VA.gov tells you to. 0 Community Owner Rattler Posted March 19, 2023 Community Owner Share Posted March 19, 2023 va.gov has a new feature that will let you download your decision directly. Go to where they have made a decision on the claim and there should be a link to read (it actually a download link.) and click on it. I downloaded all of mine the other day going back to 1982.
