Moderator broncovet Posted February 3, 2023 Moderator Share Posted February 3, 2023 (edited) Where is the VA in all this??? What about all those homeless programs that failed Vets? https://www.foxnews.com/media/veteran-sues-being-arrested-holding-god-bless-homeless-vets-sign Many homeless Veterans "would not be homeless" if VA did not take years to deliver benefits..how do I know? The VA did it to me, making me homeless for a short time. Edited February 3, 2023 by broncovet

0 Moderator broncovet Posted February 3, 2023 Author Moderator Share Posted February 3, 2023 The VA is there, in no small part, to help prevent Veteran homelessness. Or, that is what a few VASEC's have told us. (Shinseki, for example, promised to end Veterans homelessness). At least for me, the VA did more to CAUSE homelessness, by delaying my claim for 4 years. When I finally did get benefits, it was too little too late. It seems to me either that: 1. VA did not care if I was homeless or 2. They did not connect the dots, that, when I was unemployed seeking benefits, these delays meant I had no way to keep my home. Keeping one's home requires an income. I did not have an income. If the VA isnt there for the Veteran to prevent homelessness, then who's job is it?
0 Moderator brokensoldier244th Posted February 3, 2023 Moderator Share Posted February 3, 2023 (edited) Then I misunderstood your post as to why the VA would be involved in a local 1st Amendment issue. The veteran in the article is not homeless. Edited February 3, 2023 by brokensoldier244th
0 asdf
Veterans need to apply for benefits before the VA can get involved. Everyone gets mad at the VA but if nothing is requested from them then how do they know there is a problem.
