Can A Vet Draw On Mgib Benfits And Rate As Child Of 30%< Vet?
Greetings and Salutations All: My Son is back from the sandbox and is re-enrolling in college right now (was Guard deployment). He will be sending an application for his monthly money from MGIB. My question is this.....Since he is unmarried and under the age of 23, will he qualify for additional monthly compensation since I am SC over 30%? Does the VA have some obscure rule limiting them to one status (veteran - child of veteran) In the paperwork provided to me by VA they refer to dependants and unmarried children attending school. Part two, I have requested a DRO on my Decision. Since my decision would directly effect the amount of support for my Son to atte…

ptsd Colonel Dan Re:
The Colonel is right in my opinion- the long waits during the claims process and the fact that so many claims are denied certainly adds to stress and depression in veterans- "I believe there is a connection..with how veterans perceive treatment by the VA including delays in Claim processing.. Look at the status of claims for these suicidal veterans.... how long they fought for benefits...the feeling of abandonment.. after all it's just in their head..get over it....BS Far too many Pysch Dr's at VA are just pill pushers.... far too many have a foreign background and ARE NOT familiar with a soldier's or American background/culture. Far too many will not ma…

ptsd Institute Of Health Releases
http://www.vawatchdog.org/07/nf07/nfNOV07/nf112007-1.htm Link to full report at VA Watchdog in part: Table S.1 provides a summary of the committee’s conclusions for each health effect discussed in the report by category of association. No health effects were found for two categories of association, sufficient evidence of a causal relationship and limited but suggestive evidence of no association. Of all the long-term health effects reviewed, the strongest findings were on psychiatric disorders, including PTSD, anxiety, and depression. Alcohol abuse, suicide and accidental death in the early years after deployment, and marital and family conflict also appear to be a…

Disabled Iraq Returnees Have To
This was on Fox news early this AM- Apparently if a service man or women received an enlistment bonus and then they get injured in the line of duty- the Gov will decide the amount of time they did not fulfill service period (DUE TO SERVICE INJURY) and dock this amount from their bonus! They named a vet this recently happened to and they(FOX) have gotten lots of emails from others who had to re-pay or were docked for their enlistment bonus- what a DISGRACE!

Form-9 Response.......
I filed a NOD in August of '06 with IMO for mental condition, and the RO replied with SOC for my orignal TBI condition. I filed a form-9 stating the reason VA decided my case incorrectly, stated that I wanted a reconsideration and not BVA hearing.Senator Burr's office intervened in the case because of financial hardship. I just received word from his office that their rep. at the VARO informed her that they were going to send my case to the BVA after certification, because they could not see a different decision being made at that level. She said I should receive a SOC in a couple of weeks stating this, and they would expedite the certification because of the hardship. I…

Code Of Federal Regulations
I remember a while back that someone posted the Code that deals with multiple diagonosis for the same disability, and that the VA is supposed to accept the diagnosis that will be the greatest benefit to the veteran. Does anyone remember what code that was ? thank you

Va Benefits Fraud
Suppose I know someone who has in my view defrauded the VA and is receiving 100% benefits where it is not warranted, where can I anonymously go to report this information? I am not a Vet but I feel for those people who are trying to get their valied benefits and it bugs the crud out of me that some fellow used his connections to get benefits that are not deserved. Thanks for any insight.
