Fyi
Marine Appreciation day will be on July 14th, next saturday. It is going to be at River Road at Fisherman's park. I understand that Senator Mazarz will be there, and quite possibly a late arrival is possible from Govenor Spitzer. I have not been able to confirm that Senators Schumer or Clinton will be there. I do not forsee Clinton showing up (presidential race). General Davis will be there, the Marine Corps Band will be there. I just wanted to let people know that its a fun and nice ceremony dedication to Marines.

Need Help W/another Vet
I am trying to help another vet with a claim. He was treated for a terrible rash while in the Navy and still has it since he got out a couple years ago. The claim was filed because he feels he contracted it on the ship. He also served in the middle east. The Navy docs never could diagnose the rash. He went for his c & p last week and the examiner told him he would be compensated. He also got him into a VA doctor a few days later. They have no idea what it is. They did note it was the most awful rash they have seen. The doctor wants to schedule him for biopsies and said his decision might be amended later. He has no idea what that meant. I told him he should not…

Just Came From A Ortho Appointment And Mad As Hell
I had a ortho appointment for my knee that is service connected and the intake clerk asked what my pain level was today and I told him I was having some real bad pains today, so I said my pain level was about an 8 out of 10. He looked at me and said I think you look like it's about a 2. I told him that what it looks like to you and what I am feeling is two different things. I said again it's an 8, I saw him put in a 2, he was also asking me questions about my activities and how it changes my pain level, but he was asking and answering the questions. I decided to stop at the release of information office and get copies of my progress notes for the pass year and I found man…

Need Help For Nephew
I have a difficult question concerning my nephew. To start with I have known him all of his life. and can verify he seemed perfectly normal growing up. He Joined the national guard in wv and was sent to Fort Dix for basic training, This was in 1978. After four weeks he had a break down. Most of us have witnessed this, and I know many of you didn't hold these kind of type of trainees in very high regards, as I myself didn't until recently. To the best of my knowledge he has only had one job since his discharge. He received counseling continuously since getting out and been admitted on several different occupations through the years. By being in the national…

hypertension Need Assistance With Vcaa
All, today I received a brown envelope from the VA. I thought perhaps that it was the approval of my PTSD claim. It was not. In it was an additional VCAA letter stating that they needed additional information for my additional claims of Hypertension, Migraines and Sinus Problems. Now here is the kicker. Apparently when I left the army I filed for VA comp for a Deviated septum. I had completely forgotten this until I received it today. The wording of this letter says in part, "You were previously denied service connection because the evidence did not show a relationship between the disability which occurrred in service and the current condition. Since that time, I …

Original Claim Retro Pay
Hello all, I am new to this forum and honestly wish I would have run across it years ago. I got out of the military two years ago, and filed my claim for compensation shortly after. After a few screw ups that the VA has already taken responsibility for I was finally awarded 50% and am entitled to retro pay from my date of discharge. Now as you can imagine, every time I call the VA I never get the same person twice. I have had four people tell me four different time frames for this retro pay to be released. The award is in the computer, the amount of retro pay has been tabulated, and I have a date of July 2, 2007. How long does it take for the VA to send the chec…

ptsd Is This The Norm
I called RO at St. Louis today to check on my C&P/Claim processing. I was told they have not recieved the medical portion back from Kansas City VA. I called the KC VA and they told me it has not been reviewed or signed by the MD. It has been 4 weels since I had my medical C&P. I had the C&P two weeks after having triple bypass surgery. And then the medical C&P was done by a PA. My mental was done by a PhD (Phys). I came off volunteer recall status in June 06 two months prior to my release date of Aug 06 because I did not take any leave while working mortuary affairs. I was on terminal leave and at the time filed for increase in PTSD and a heart attac…

Lab Work
The most weird thing happened to me today, I went to the VA clinic for some lab work that my doctor wanted me to do. To my surprise not only did they withdraw blood but I also had to give a urine sample for drugs. I could not belieave that my doctor would senfd me to take this test. Has this happened to anybody on the panel is there a reason for them to do this or are they just looking for reason to mess around with a veterans pension.

Ok, Another One Of Thoes Va Math Questions!
Ok, I used the Hadit spreadsheet for the following: 10, 10, 10, 30, 30, 30 and it comes up to 74.9953%. Am I correct in assuming that the VA would round this up to 75% which in turn is rounded up to 80%? Thanks all.

Dro Appeal Denied Ssoc Has A Cue
I received my ssoc today. I was denied for limited motion of left shoulder secondary to 0% sc of fractured clavicle. What can I do now since there is a obvious cue? My decision states a 0 percent evaluation is assigned unless arm motion is limited at the shoulder level which would warrant a rateing of 20 percent. I was awarded 0% sc for this in 2004. ssoc reasons and bases: The evidence reviewed in connection with your appeal does not demonstrate that a higher evaluation is warranted at this time. VA examination results show range of motion of the left arm as follows: flexion 0 to 180 degrees (normal), adduction 0 to 90 degrees (normal), abduction 0 to 180 degrees (normal…
