ptsd Ptsd
Ptsd and the way we were My first question is, how were we. Where I come from in the late 1950’s to the early sixties life was calm, serene, and peaceful.. I ‘ve heard it said threes three things we all have to do. Be born, pay taxes and die. Well in my generation there were four things you had to do. That fourth thing was serve your country. You could either join or wait to be drafted. There was no lottery. If you didn’t join, unless you were rich the odds were that you were going to be drafted. Upon joining the Army, I excelled in basic training, a. i. t… At that time we had our jump school at Fort Campbell, which I graduated from. I took courses in the …

Agent Orange Physical
I'm scheduled for a AO physical the 18th. My service in RVN was 68-69. I was seen about AO in 91 and was told I was not in an area that AO was sprayed. Since then I guess they admitted it was. I was in I Corps with the 101st. I personally know several leathernecks that were in I Corps that were rated with AO. Any suggestions on what I should or shouldn't do during the physical - other than buttoning the back of my gown. Jerry O

Tort Claim Settlers/winners
After you settled your tort claim either by settlement or judgement how long did it take for you to get your check from the US Treasury? I am taking a poll. My attorney was told by the assistant US Attorney that it would be three months. Is that what is normal? I know when the VA makes a decision and you get the letter that your backpay is paid generally within just a few weeks and the check comes from the US Treasury. I'd like to have some feedback on how long it has taken others and what state you are in. I don't want $ amounts, just how long and what state. Thank you!

Found Out How My Poa
It has taken me over 4 years to realise what happened- I just found out- According to my POA's main office I never went to the local vet rep and filed any of my claims. They were unaware of my IMOs. The vet rep who I did make appointments with to give him my claims, and evidence, said I had never contacted the Division since Oct 16,2001. I WAS THERE MANY TIMES with my claims and the additional evidence-!!!! I had been there with each of my claims- 2 in 2003 and 2 in 2004 and another one---- forget when-also additional evidence that I brought in or mailed- proves that I had contact with them- When I called the rep to ask if I should drop off my initials IMos…

Asked For Reconsideration (new Evidence), Now What?
I had made a new claim for depression back in November. I was getting my mental health records from the military myself to send in. I requested that the VA put a hold on the depression claim until I got the veidence. A month later I received a Denial letter based on no evidence. I finally got the evidence in and sent in a letter with the new evidence and ROI forms for my current treatments. My exact wording was " request reconsideration in my denial for depression based on new evidence." Got a letter in the mail today stating they received my Notice of Disagreement and they want me to choose Denovo review or no Denovo review so they can send statement of the cas…
