ptsd Just When You Think They Are Done Playing Games
You just have to love the VARO's, I got a letter today stating that they have asked me for the unit I was assigned to and the dates that I was at Edgewood and that since I have failed to give them that information, they can not verify my presence there with the Army and I need to send them the requested information within 30 days. If this wasn't worth so much money I would tell them what they could do with this letter, but I filled it out and again wrote the dates I was assigned to Edgewood from 25 June 1974 thru 22 August 1974, copies of which are already in my C File and have been since 2003, when they obtained my SMR's from Saint Louis. The Edgewood file is in my SMR's…

ptsd Is This Right, Can They Do This?
Hey all, I made my third trip to the VAMC today, the 5th of Jan 06. The Dr. was supposed to go over the results and discuss it with me. My first trip there was on 9 Dec 05 for a NP evaluation, but the Dr. spent all of the time that day talking to me and obtaining medical history. She did not have any of my records. So, I was set up with another appointment on the 21st of Dec 05 and that is when I took the all day tests, and it took all day. Today the Dr. told me that she wanted me to come back and redo the true and false question test (370 questions) and also a two page multiple choice questionaire (This looked like the same questionaire they used for PTSD). Sh…

Benefit Of Doubt?
We received my husband's decision letter and I have questions. First, it's important to know that my husband's doctor advised against having an exam as it was detrimental to his health. I discussed this with the rep on the 800# and he assured me it would not hurt his case if he declined the exam. But all of his claims were denied because he didn't have the exam--"Because of conflicting medical information on file, an exam was ordered to provide more information. You canceled the exam, therefore not enough information is available to give a favorable decision on your claim." He has medical evidence (two private IMOs) that fully confirms diagnosis and treatment of th…

Update On My Claims---
My claims- due to my recent letter to the VA OIG (as far as I know- they said it was a congressional matter- but I havent griped to my Congressman for years and the vet rep said the IG would be classified as Cong. matter) are in the director's office. I also had sent the director a letter telling her of my concerns and that I wrote to the IG- I am THRILLED! My concerns are how this VARO is not only treating my claims but how they are treating many many valid claims of veterans- I am still ticked off that a federal employee- a DRO-supposed to be a high level adjudicator- sent me a copy and paste decison in Sept, when the entire purpose of the DRO is for a de Novo (b…
