HadIt.com Elder LarryJ Posted October 14, 2010 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted October 14, 2010 As far as your question about looking the examiner in the eye and acting nervous, just let me try to explain something: We're not here, or at least I'm not here, to tell you "how to act". The examiners are professionals. They can "spot" an "actor" when he walks through their door! Do you understand this? "ACT" as you would normally act. BE YOURSELF. You don't have any "tests" to take. You DO have a bunch of questions to answer. Just be honest. Like I said, these folks talk to veterans ALL DAY LONG, day after day, and they can tell the sincere ones from the actors that have been told how to act and are trying to be somebody they are not. Now, calm down, breathe in through your nose, out through your mouth. One thing at a time. One day at a time. You'll do just fine.
Berta
They rate malaria on the active residuals. "I was 10% for the Malaria.. now i was told it changed to 0% but it was SC for Malaria" Is the C & P part of a formal appeal on the reduction to Zero? Your DD214 almost reads like my husband's (dead 16 years ago today) USMC DaNang like you.100% PTSD P & T ( and SC for DMII -no rating possible, 100% SC CVA, and AO IHD and SMC to be determined from 60% to 100%)His GAF was 26 and 34. I suggest you apply for TDIU ASAP. It is possible the VA will rate you high enough for them to send the form but it does not hurt to apply for TDIU yourself. The AO levels in Danang are 300 times higher now then they were during the Vietnam War. (source: The Hatfield Report) You don't appear to have any Agent Orange illnesses and that is a good thing. They used a lot of AO in Ashau too-not far from Danang.TDIU 21-8940.pdf
carlie
I have read its not good to look at the examier is this true. Be nervous and dont give any info unless asked for it. There should be a forum just for how to be in a C&P exam.... First off, I am in total agreement with Larry. No one is here to coach you on being an actor at a C&P examination. All I will say on it is that a C&P examination is no time to "man up". Just be yourself - if you go in there like your an actor doing a show you will get sunk from the get-go and that might be rightfully so. A C&P examination is more comparable to the vet finally making it to play in the World Series versus a staged Broadway Play. BTW - there is a C&P Forum - it's just not specific to," how to be in a C&P exam...." .
