Deceased Veteran's Last Comp Check

Question

My husband passed away April 14th. Of course I didn't receive his Comp Check May 1st. Am I entitled to check the check for May 1st?

Berta - Thanks so very much. I'm on my lunch and was able to call the number for this benefit and they asked some questions and are putting in the request for me to get April's Comp Check!!! I didn't even have to wait on hold!! Thanks again.....

They pay in arrears so may would be apr check and if one dies in whatever mth they die in the spouse is entitled to receive that check. See where others have all helped you out with this. Sorry for your loss.

I see the cut off date is 1996 so maybe I am not eligible for this but I sure think you are akwidow.

I love when the VA says that thousands are affected by something and they are seeking those affected by it-

yeah right-

It is up to every claimant here to find out what is rightfully ours.
