So your getting 100 percent. But you want an early date of approval?
-
Vso, need more training, as far as I can see with my husbands is they are just paper pushers. They need to tell the vet, that the need to get his dr to word his opinion with these exact words, other wise you are just wasting your time. I don’t think they take their positions very seriously. You learn more on how to get things done looking thru this site. And looking in decision on board of veteran appeals, for a claim similar to yours that was approved and look at how it is worded. If it is similar to yours, use it to help you word yours. Even coping the part of what or how the dr needs to word his opinion. I think we all could save some tim if the Vso would even point you in that direction, but sadly they do not.

Has any one filed a claim this way? And if so how long before they approved or disapproved.?
-
Yes! Checked board of veterans appeal today. They are up to dec 14. Ya!
-
Hume0351, have you got a decision yet? They have moved to nov 14now.
-
You know, I think hubbys was actually put on the dockett in JAn of 15. So the 02 does not mean the month. Oh well it is still a wait and see.
-
Air1, would you care to share your dockett number. My husbands is 1502319. I’m assuming that is yr 15 month feb and it is number 319 for that month? His still says it is waiting dockett order. But I did look on veteran appeals customer service an it Sammy’s they are working on nov 14. And I called and confirmed that.
-
Yay, checked with board o appeals. They are working on nov 14! Hubbys is jan15..

Thanks for the advice Gaston. I think that is exactly what I will do. I see on board of veterans appeals they are on Oct 14 now. They are moving pretty good now. His appeal is for 1502 319. What does the 02 mean?

I will be calling his Vso tomorrow. To ask him if we should reopen this claim for heart valve disease secondary to diabetes 2.

Berta, my husband was in the navy. He was stationed in Danang. They did coastal servalence, going up some of the river water ways on small boats. He was there for TET.

What exactly are they saying. I did not see all this, before. And I think all hubby looked at ways that they denied it. Were they saying we should have considered a nod? Or can we reopen it now, and they approve or under any new additions to the 38cfr. Such as the service connected diabetes caused/ aggravated/or made the heart condition progress much faster, than it would have if he had not had the diabetes?

His 1502319 . Yes I’m aware of the ninety day thing. We did send in all the labs from the time he was diagnosised with kidney disease etc. but I’ve been looking at decisions on board of veterans affairs and if it is not worded just as t.he va wants, they deny it. So I thought maybe I could have doctors write it up the way the va wants. But maybe that is impossible now. I will try to get the redacted copy on here for you.
But I have another question concerning his clam for compensation for the Mitral and tricuspid regurgitation, claimed as heat condition. Here is a pic of the p

Can you send in info on an appeal if it has Been at bva, but no decision yet? I want my husbands nephrologist to write a little bit different letter, as to why he thinks diabetes has caused his cod etc. I ve been reading a lot of decisions I don’t think the one he wrote will do the trick. I’m thinking I can write it up and he can read it and if he likes it, put it on his letter head. What do you think.i have read and looked up enough of these decisions and read enough publications from pub med, diabetic association, the kidney association to write one. It has to be very explicit on explaining their opinion. Otherwise va will just deny it. For instance it was originally denied because when undated in a cup at c&p their was proteinuria in it. Now they found proteinuria in a 24hr drop. That is why he was sent to specialist. In one of the publications from pub med it says you do not always the same amount of proteinuria, you drop more in the later stages or your diabetes can cause you to drop more at times if it is not controlled. And has anything else the diabetes aggravates the kidneys, and can make it progress even faster.
what do think? Can we still send in another letter to be added to the claim?
If diabetes does not cause kidney problems, why are they always watching their kidney function?
i would also like your opinion on this too. My husbands blood sugar dropped to 36 nite before last. I think he should have went to er. He broke out in sweat all over. And although I’m not diabetic I know how hw feels. I accidentally took his med by mistake in 2001, and I worked at the post office. On way to work candy bars and started shoving them down. I was the first one at work, carrier came in 15min later. I was broke out in sweat too. But I managed to get it under control. Lol. That’s what happened when your in a hurry and he ask you to to bring him his meds. But if nothing else to get that on record. He did tell his nephrologist about it. He ordered some kind of injection that I have to stab him with if his sugar gets so low he passes out. Maybe I will put that in the letter for him. He has had several episodes of low blood sugar as well as high. His last a1c was 9. Something. But I don’t think it has ever been that low..
thanks ahead for any advise you can give me.
and if anyone else wants to chime in. That is ok I’ll take any advise I can get.
i did notice they are now! Before the holidays they were on May 2014. Maybe someone lit a fire under them!

Was this a va doctor? If not I would have said hold the dbq, and I would have gotten another X-ray. If you have been going to va for you back, they probably have done more than one. Get another opinion.

Gastone, my husband was in the navy from 64-68. He got out and became police officer for 4 yrs in st.louis then Waco to for 4 yrs. then was able to reinlist into the USCG and go back at the rank he got out at in 68. He did 16 yrs to complete his 20. Then got out of it and went back into law enforcement for another 9 yrs. then 5 yrs with homeland security. He was boots on ground in veitnam with coastal survalence. I’m going to copy the decisions on these claims. When I have time. My daughter just had surgery a few days ago. And to tired right now. Besides that this old body took a fall on the hospital floor of th hospital. I’m so sore now I have problems getting up and down. What is funny I’m sore in upper left chest area. Hope I feel better in a few days.

Hamslice, my husband had mitral and tricuspid regurgitation, and applied for disability secondary to diabetes. He was denied then. I kept asking his dr if he had ihd. He said no. But they never did catherization scan until just before he went in to have the aortic valve replaced. They found cad in upper left branch off the aorta artery. I’m going to check with his surgeon on how long he thinks he had the ihd. He had his and has been taking meds for awhile. I pulled up his servic medical records and he had to have a three day check in 1987, where he had high readings all three days. He was in the navy and boots on ground . Had an eight yr break and enlisted in the USCG. He had high blood pressure then. They chalked in up to being nerves.
They reopened that claim in 09 and sent it for nehemer to look at. We were not notified that it had been reopened. I saw it on ebenefits. They still left it denied.
Then in 13 is when the replaced the aortic valve and found the ihd. He has let hytrophy. I like his cardio guy, but he acts like he does not like it when you ask for copy’s of records. I did have to pay one time for them. Now that claim shows reopened on ebenefits. And again we have not been notified.
If you go on board of veteran appeals site and click decisions. You can just type in aortic valve. I have pulled up claims that says aortic valve fits the definition of ihd. Maybe their is hope here. I’m going to push it too.
-
Berta, I was just looking on ebenefits for when Hubby put in for contrary artery disease and it shows approved. But it was put on the claim as ihd, also claimed as mistrial and tricuspid regurgitation, also claimed as valvular heart disease. Reopened.
in 09 it was the same. It was brokered out for someone else to look at back then. I think nemer was nvolved then too.
We hav not been notified that they have reopened
so I was going to reopen it anyway, do we have our Vso to find out what is going on. And since they reopened it again wil it go all the way back to 09.?

Buck are you saying precious anemia is servic connected? That is why my husband was raking b12 injections.
-
Does anyone have a problem with low blood platlets. My husband has been dianosised, but he needs to get back in and have them rechecked.
-
So if you are on the ao register for claims or appeals move faster. How do you get on it.? Buck my husband low b12 also and took b12 for a month, but he did not have to have them any longer. But that was about 5 yrs ago. He probably needs it again. He needs to lasso the dr and tell to ck it. I got mine done the other day, I'm waiting on results now. B12 is supposed to bee 1200 something, last time I had min ck it was down to 100. Old people to get low.

Ok maybe someone will give their opinion. First off a pic of hubbys SOC. And letters from his drs. Can you give me you opinion if it is worded good enough. And notice in his regular md says he is not able to work due to his diseases. Should we go ahead and file iu. His appeal is for jan 15. And they are currently working on dec 14. If we do will it still stay in line.?
