  1. Like I told my VA therapist today, I don't agree with being considered p&t. I want to return to work in the future.
  2. Just wondering why I would be denied IU for granted 100% p&t with no future appointments needed? Would they deny me IU because it doesn't matter or because 100%pt is greater than IU?
  3. After they denied me my increase; Only new evidence I submitted was a form with questions answered by my ptsd doctor that my lawyer sent me. (Residual Functional Capacity Evaluation) Hygiene I think I am clean; aside from having untrimmed facial hair and my hair will get shaggy from lack of hair cuts. Something I over looked that might be important is my PTSD isn't rated solely as PTSD. E-Ben has it as PTSD with dysthymic disorder.
  4. The RO must have decided I am competent. E-ben has my backpay listed in payment section. Still sending in my ptsd doctor's letter that says I am competent just to be safe.
  5. E-Ben has me at 100% P&T and I am receiving my first 100% payment next month.
  6. That time in my life was hard. Near the start of my process with the VA in 2010. Point is, I didn't lose my rights to own firearms.
  7. I'm tired of reading on these forums people telling other what not to say, what to say, ect. Be 100% honest with the VA and you will get what you deserve in the end.
  8. No. I told my doctor I have those thoughts. He asked how I would do it. I said i'd get a cop to kill me. I still own firearms. I have always been 100% truthful with the VA and I advise you to do the same.
  9. UPDATE: E-Ben now says 100%, but does not show back pay in payment history. Still waiting on back pay.
  10. #800 person said it is probably going to take at least 2 months for them to finalize everything and start paying me... I really hope this person is wrong....
  11. I just got a 2nd SSOC for my PTSD increase... The rating decision dated 9-28-16 Decision: 1: Increased evaluation for PTSD curretly 70% disabling is increased to 100% disabling effective 2-1-16. Increased evaluation prior to 2-1-12 is denied. 2: Entitlement to IU is denied. My lawyer is taking care of this, but when should I expect my first 100% monthly check?
  12. She wants to get me IU because it is a more 'long-term' rating. I forget her exact wording. The reason I think the back pay will be wrong is because for some reason E-Ben has ptsd increase listed as a pending disability with a submitted date of this year.
  13. You need nearly that exact sentence broncovet wrote. Raters look for it the same way they look for any one sentence to deny you the first time around. IE: I was denied an increase for PTSD because, when I was asked what I do in my free time, I told the C&P I play PC games. (I kid you not) The C&P wrote that playing video games suggest some work can be done. But I am now being granted 100% after appeal.
  14. Have your PTSD doctor do a 'Residual Functional Capacity Evaluation.' Add it to your evidence when you file.
  15. E-Bem has it at Appeal pending notice of disagreement; however, I got a SSOC in the mail saying they're denying my IU, but granting 100% for PTSD in a separate rating decision. #800 number people said they're working on finalizing my 100% and gave me the generic time frame of a day to months depending on workload, complexity of claim, ect, ect.
  16. Does anyone know what this eligibility determination means? Is it a sign that my PTSD increase to 100% is moving along fast and might be completed this month?
  17. Checked E-Ben today to find under historical claims a new closed claim. 'Eligibility Determination.' Opened on 10-7-2016 | Closed on 10-7-2016 | Update: Notification sent | Actions: view appeal statues (This link leads to the general work in process page.)
  18. THe other thing we plan is to not increase our monthly expenses, besides 2nd car and insurance.
  19. We really want to get a 2nd car. I don't go out when the wife is at work, but it would be nice to have that option. Especially with our son is starting kindergarten next year. Other than that; it's get past bills/loans taken care of and work towards having the credit score to get a VA home loan. Plus, a smidgen will go towards a better Christmas for our son.
  20. The VA 800# confirmed my 100% rating but couldn't give me any details and just said it hasn't been sent out yet and/or is still being 'drawn' out. 1 Day to several months is the time frame the guy gave me for it being completed....
  21. Talked to my lawyer today and she thinks that the VA is going to give me back pay back to the date of the exam the VA is using as evidence to grant me 100%. She already said she will file NOD and still ask for IU to be granted as well. How long does it take the VA to correct back pay?
  22. I just found out the VA is granting me 100%. I also get SSDI. Can my wife and I own two new vehicles and still get SSDI?
  23. I will see what I can do. My main concern right now is making sure this is real. (100% rating) Just seems unreal to me right now.
  24. The VA knows I was unemployed when they awarded me the last time and that my SSDI is based solely on PTSD. Shouldn't the back pay be dated to at least when I requested an increase from 70%? edit: the exam date is a reference, i think, from a listed exam under evidence. I just didn't type it all out on here.
