  1. with the exception of acute injuries, we would never need the meds. But just about everything else. Simple put blood pressure med delete coq10 and your b's. Question of the day. How many people on say blood pressure meds are everyday changing their diets.....eating 1 - 2 leafy green servings, nuts (not processed)s, freshly made tomotao sauce, gave up the glueten, no fried foods, no condements, natural beef. It is a lot easier than you think but I know some of the "sick" people and they just refuse to many any adjustment drinking freshly juice organic carrots are great...........but people just refuse to do it. No one should quit taking a med without a thorough consultation with the Doc who prescribed it.
  2. it's no joke but would depened on how long you had it. check your tempt under arm or rectal...........for about 2 weeks when you wake.....if you are hypo you would read about 97 and beleow. This gets to be a problem for you immmunie systems making it cool for all those neat bugs to run around and party like it's 1999. depending on the type of doctor you have you can ask about doing some us..........ct and iodine pill..........but an endrocronologist is a MUST...........they will check you out and might for with a urologist for males of course. from what I have seen Thyroid problems causes mental issuse, low immune system's, can cause low testerone the pititudary glande in somethng. No matter what you do it check it out. Sleep apnea can go with it as it has done here...........the CPAP is a pain in the tail but if you love life then it is a minor setback while sleeping. Chuck745. I'm in the middle here but a dry cough is also from gERD...........which is no no no no no no no joke uniless yuou get off with those little voice boxes. Hypo becomes insensetive to cold./// Gotta stay warm..........give me a jacket............but here is a little like http://209.85.207.104/search?q=cache:t8-CG...p;cd=1&gl=u right now I have Thyroiditis but hope all is well. Cheers
  3. Ricky, Yes on the billing we get one here one there......we got a Dec bill then Jan's was for Jan and Nov.
  4. Ricky and MT, Ricky, Yes that sounds like American Home Patient. We just filled a complaint with the BBB. They (AHP) denied my wife services and supplies because they said it was past do.....so, they have our name spelled a few different ways. Your monthly co pay should be 17.87 of normal fees.....if you put down more than the $97.16 when you received it then hopefully they are adjusting that. We put down $238 and they still bill us 17.87 instead of subtracting it from our downpayment. Watch those EOB's because AHP will try to screw you. I have Apria Healthcare and I can say they are 1000 percent better. We are switching her to Apria ASAP. Sorry to hear your problems but I do appreciate hearing someone else is having problems maybe there are more. My wife can't handle any more stress so it really does make it hard with someone is saying this is late that is late........but it truly is not....and Tricare/Humana are NO help. MT, Yes I did read that but it does not say how many months we pay until Humana considers paid for.
  5. Mountain, Yes we went back thre last month and they stated they do not have it. but my doctor did site it and put l4 l5 radiocupathy *colse* I was going to try and claim it anyhow.............to me there is enoggt ub there.
  6. Hello, I have been looking but do not see. Tricare Prime retiree, my question is specifically concerning a CPAP. Does anyone know how long we pay the cost share or co pay amount? The TSC told us 10 months, someone higher up at Tricare said 12.......but we are trying to find this in writing. We also put in a greviance because the DME provider would not come to service the CPAP nor send us our supplies to operate it, they did not say why but it seems that they thought it was past due. Long story short they (DME provide) made two accounts for us......we opened a grivience thru our local TSC. Well the South Tricare Grevience person very much just talks down to us, rude, had my wife about crying, I talked to him and he was a litter different but still would talk over me on the phone, not let me explain what we need, he stated he has are 12 pages of the compliant with names, numbers, dates and times but as he said "I did not read it, I'm calling you". We had a phone conference at our TSC with them and him, we he said "now you are changing your story" and talking over us......so we just walked out during the conference after about 10 minutes of this from him. Nobody changed anything, but he must have bumped his head and forgot what we just talked about 1 hour prior but also I faxed him the same info......this was concerning our account balance.....we never have been past due but on our fault instead of just paying the $97.16 when we picked up the equipment we paid $238.35 and the DME provider American Home Patient is deducting the money but saying past due......and not giving a monthly updated balance for us. My wife has OSA and other heart issues......and he has really got on her nerves. Does anyone know whom we can get help with......we did open complaints with BBB for their billing. We have asked in the past for an itemized account statement....we have about 13 names, numbers but never anything in writing as requested. We also wanted to file a complaint with this grevience person. :) Thanks, Y#5
  7. Stillhere, Sure if you don't mind. I see my sleep doctor this friday. Even though I've been diagnosed with OSA and insomnia my PCM and Internal Medicine doctors WILL NOT give me sleep piils not even at the lowest dosage. They both told me no but in my medical record they wrote something to the extint of told patient to come in and discuss Rx for sleep meds --- C-y-a? I find that incredible......I've even told them I will not and do not use them daily.....usually I use meletonin but somethings it is nicer to have something that will "knock" you out...I know I can only go about a week with no sleep and then there is hell to pay, lol. There is a lot of evidence connecting the 3 together. Personall I know I had GERD first, then probably sleep apnea follewed by Hypertension..........whether GERD played a roll or not I don't really know but for your with SA your pressure will take off. Mine was pretty bad 190/120 this was due to stress, NO SLEEP, and I could not use my cpap for about 3 weeks. So please keep rolling with the program to keep it at bay. Y#5
  8. I want to file a claim for Lumbar DDD including siatic nerve and something. I have complaints in my record while on active duty and current (with an MRI after retirement) in 2006 my doctor stated in my record "L4 and L5 Radiocupathy As per mri 2000" this is while I was on active duty. I cannot find that MRI from 2000.....I went to the Naval Hospital and no......not in my Cfile. But since the doctor documented it, shouldn't that be good enough with my other complaints and new MRI for a service connection. Thanks.
  9. jbasser, yes osa is nothing to play with. my wife has it also and not sure what caused it but she has issues with her tricusips valve (spelling?). My internal medicine doctor just dignosed my hypertention as sysmatic, I have many issues and cannot think clearly but I'm thinking that he is saying the hypertension is connected to something, correct? Thanks.
  10. Ricky, Yes and thank you very much. I while back I think Berta had guidelines or example regarding the IMO's but I didn't could not find them. Have a great week!!
  11. Ricky, Concerning my OSA are you saying something like? "This case of OSA is at least as likely as not caused by GERD and Hypertension" or are we talking about "during active duty service" Thanks.
  12. John999, Thanks. File for Lumbar DDD and Sciatica then? Do you think they will take away my Lumbar Strain rating? And should I just file a new claim or anything I need to do, will they still look at the "old" evidence from the first claim showing nexus to active duty? I'm making this Friday "Claim clam roast Friday"......all but my OSA claim is gettiing organized and ready for the VSO. Thanks.
  13. Another question. Upon my retirement in 2004 I submitted my original claim. I did claim low back pain (sciatica). They denied the condition, then off the NOD they actually gave me "Lumbar strain" at 20 percent in 2006. I do have in my active duty medical record signs of left leg tingling, + sciatica, left buttox pain and l4 l5 radiculopathy. I just had my VA PCM give me a Lumbar MRI in 2007 and it shows L4-5 broad based disc buldge with paracental left protrusion. L5-S1 Broad based disc bulge with mild paracentral left component extending into the inferior aspect of the left neural foramen may contact the nerve root as it exits at this level. But the C&P Examiner did the exam and during the time I guess he did not feel I have these problems of sciatica which I was claiming. I do not want to lose my 20 percent for "lumbar strain", they did say in the notes "This is a grant of the benefit sought and the NOD is considered satisfied in full as to the low back issue, previously claimed as sciatica. It is noted that the current VA Exam does not objectively confirm sciatica, so service connection for this aspect of the claimbed back condition has not been established. However, a low back condition characterized as lumbosacral strain as ben established as service connected." " A future VA Exam is not needed since improvement in the condition is not anticipated." Should I leave this all alone and not try to claim something like Lumbar DDD with Sciatica? Thanks. Y#5
  14. Ricky, I will have to work on getting some statements, do we use the 2138? My wife (which hers probably won't count for much being my wife but she is a nurse and her mom a doctor - we just don't get too much into this) is the one that found it out. I mean you can only tell a doctor your problems and hope they do the tests. I was just leaning towards a approval since he said he I had traits of OSA and he should consider doing the test. We know the symptoms of our cars when we drive it everyday.....so I had to lie and tell my new PCM that I "fell asleep while driving" because he would not give me a sleep study even though I told him I was having the fatigue.......this went on for years and on my physicals. You know after I told him I fell asleep......within a month I had a sleep study and from that I had OSA. Incredible. Not that that should get me an approval but it is incredable that all in all you can tell your doctor and he can do what they want......another thing.......thyroid.........OMG you know I told my doctor while on active duty I had a thyroid issue.....you know he did test it and it jumped from good to bad almost each time. The VA Neuro even told them to check it more indepth and they never did......guess what.....after fighting with them and finally getting my internal medicine doctor to do his "tests" and finding nothing I was sent to an endo who said........."um, yes you that thyroiditis". Then next time I seen the internal medicine doctor for the first time ever....he said he could feel my nodule, lol. Which is funny because I was also involved in a duty van single car accident....hmmm, no Naval Hospital Pensacola ER notes. Navy legal did have a bill in there because they had me do a drug test to see if they could make me pay for the vehicle, lol. Another question.....is there some code that deviated septum might fall under besides 6502? And quesiton of the day....if they went to fix a deviated septum by doing septoplasty but they made it worse and you still have a deviated septum, should you not be able to claim that.....I need guidance if that is possible. the problem with claiming a deviated septum under 6502 is it had to be from trauma and without record of trauma - no sc. One gets tired of playing nicely while the others do not play so nice. But back to the response. I appreciate you suggestions and am making an appointment with my sleep study doctor. By the way......Motrin always topped the list but it was good for other reasons.
  15. Lets see if this will let me reply now......two hours ago it disappreared on me..... Ricky, Right was it the chicken or egg first? I was just looking at different angles for my Sleep Apnea claim. I finally received a copy of my medical record and there were of course no diagnoses while on active duty for OSA however...in my last 3 years of active duty my medical record has some mention of sleep disorders, day time fatigue and the doctor said "osa 2* (2 degree)" "consider sleep study" but I never had one and for my final year in the military I had a new PCM which this never got discussed becaue I was looking at cervical surgery before I retired. I am awaiting a copy of my record from retirement (12/31/2003) to present. In mid 2006 I told my different PCM that I was falling sleep while driving because before this he never did anything when I complained of day time fatigue but i did not complain very much. I had my first sleep study 10/31/2006 and was diag with insomnia and OSA. My blood pressure was and still is uncontrollable during this time of talking about sleep apnea...... Do you think I should submit a claim like this? I was going to claim before but my VSO Rep told me I didn't have a well grounded cause. Thanks for your assistance, Y#5
  16. 71M10, I was trying to go this route because it has been hard for me to get buddy statements. I as well have a deviated septum but that has to be proved cause by trauma which I'm sure mine did but I am missing a lot of medical pages (even missing from the VA) during the time of my car accident but as well have cervical issues and Trauma related Cateract which are more than likely all related to the accident. There is a lot of info about GERD causing OSA.....with hypertension you are correct osa can cause that not vice versa as I was saying. I know GERD in my severity can cause lots of problems so make sure yours stays in control.
  17. Yes the deposit was the first part from DFAS, shortly after the VA sent their portion not as much as I thought it should be but better than nothing. It is a shame that I had to write DFAS to get this going. thanks.
  18. Hello, I'm rated for hypertension within my year of retirement 12/2003. In March of 2006, I had my first sleep study and second in Oct and diagnosed with Obstructive sleep apnea and insomnia but did not file a claim because my representitive told me that since this was after the one year period I was "not qualified to file". Anyhow....while on active duty I did complain of day time fatigue and on my physicals but "sleep 10-12 hours but still tired throughout the day and yawnny". I was asked if I snore but being single I did not know....blah blah blah. In 2004 actually my wife did say I have apnea events. While on active duty right before retirement I had a deviated septum which I had surgery on to help with the day time fatigue but that still did not help and I told the doctors such. I did claim the deviated septum but had problems proving the trauma.......anyhow.......... Would it be within reason to file a claim with the Obstructive Sleep Apnea secondary to hyptertension (systemic). Is this resonable on my behalf? I also have GERD which has developed to Barretts Esphogus which I have read causes OSA as well........how do they decide? I also need to request an increas on my GERD from the 10 percent I guess. Thanks much in advance, Y#5

  20. I recently requested and received my C-file and other records from the VA. On the form that I cannot remember the number of now I also requested my VA Vocational rehab tests and counselor notes and my VA PGW Registry which I received nothing, I also attached a letter asking that if they were not the appropiate office to ask for these to please let me know what form I submit and whom I ask. I can go down to the VA and request my PGW Registry information but they are a pain in the tail......but I have no idea of how I get the notes from the VA Vocational rehab. Both of these will be used for a claim. Thanks in advance, y#5
  21. Ricky, I was kind of upset because yes this was about $200 pretax......I did go to dfas and my statement said something like miscellanious payment. I have been waiting like most for retro of CDRP forever....but I have some changes so I figured it would be one of the later ones. I did send DFAS a letter last month and they returned it to me only because I did not write my SSN on the paperwork, is that not some crap?!!!?!?!!!! Anyhow, thanks everyone........I was gonna blow my top if they said this was the retro payment.
  22. I was checking my accounts and a payment was posted from "DFAS-CLEVELAND RETSPCL". Does anyone know what this might be. I am awaiting retro pay but this is no where close to the retro amount. I would like like to know prior to calling them Monday, I have searched online and cannot find anything.

  24. Here is a forum with some people talking about CDRP issues http://vets.yuku.com/topic/5842/t/CRDP-Back-Pay.html?page=3 And DFAS's sob story back in April http://www.military.com/features/0,15240,131999,00.html
