  1. Thanks LC, and jfarr for starting the post-don't think I would have even known had I not seen it here.
  2. Has anyone heard anything else about this? This is baaaad, and I have not seen or heard anything from the VA or even in the news locally concerning this! I know they are required to notify people in a certain amount of time when something like this happens. I noticed the site was completely down when I tried to log in this morning.....
  3. I too am learning about this jfarr. Nothing we can do. Apparently a decision was made on mine at the start of Dec, however my claim has managed to move all the way back to review of evidence with a projected close out date at the end of this year. I've given up on it for now. Good luck to you, it will happen some day!
  4. No such luck Killemall! Apparently as of Saturday it moved back again to review of evidence! No mail for me anytime soon! Im not sure what could be going on, but I guess its good its moving around at least! And what you're saying sounds about right on how they can deduct severance pay. I guess I'll sit tight for now!
  5. Thanks Meg and LC! Carlie is it true that I will only have the percentage DOD awarded me deducted from the percentage (if any) VA recommends, but that ratings for any other contentions cannot be deducted from based on the fact that I wasn't awarded severance pay for those issues? I've been wondering about that and I've seen some info that leads me to believe that would be the case. Thanks for any info, and Happy New Year everyone! Here's to a "closed" claim soon!!! (Eyes closed, fingers and toes crossed and prayers sent up)!
  6. Sorry for the typos earlier! Soooo I submitted an IRIS request, and I talked to my VSO whom sounded like he was in a hurry. VSO said they did get info on my claim dated the 4th (Peggy was right abt that), but he couldn't get it open while i was on the phone with him because someone else was in it at the same time? He said he thinks it was 20% but he stopped short of saying he was positive on that. The Bbe I got yesterday was my "clinic" packet and he said to wait a few more days for another letter. If 20% is my rating, I'll look at it as a blessing that I received anything, but I was truly hoping for 30% with the chronic shoulder issues and my scarring. :( If ebennies is still reading as pending decision approval (back from prep for notification) is it possible they are still deciding something? I know I need to just wait like you guys said to, but its so hard :/. I need a time out....
  7. Hi everyone! Wish I was having a better day but I'm near nuclear meltdown today. Surprisingly my son pulled out a BBE from the mailbox last night which shocked me since according to ebenefits my claim backtracked frm prep for notification to pending decision approval again-even though Peggy told me a decision had already been made! I opened the BBE dated 14 Dec, only to find a veterans handbook for my health benefits, welcoming me to the system. Inside it says I am priority D, 0 service connected, and the letters say my book will give me know info abt any other pending claims. An additional form talks abt my right to appeal their decision! What is going on? If a decision has been made since the 4th and my book is dated the 14th, this makes it look like nothing was approved with absolutely no explanation! Please help!!
  8. Hopefully you should get something, at the least 10-20 like Navy said. Find everything on your treatment for it. When I injured my shoulder I was in therapy forever, but no surgery (impingement/rotator cuff is what they listed it as) keeps me up at night sometimes and really grumpy because of the pain, other days its ok. At my C and P exam they did x-rays and stuff, but I'm still in the holding queue for my ratings if any. Good luck!
  9. Uuuuuugggghhhhhh!!!!! Never mind! I just checked ebenefits and it just jumped back to pending decision approval again! *sigh* I think this is my cue to step away from ebenefits for a while, I think the finish line is a lot further away than I thought!
  10. @Broncovet-I gave them all of my Dependant and bank info in the beginning but from what I've read here, that may not mean anything! My status also said evidence requested not received, but then all the evidence listed shows as received! Anyone ever seen this? If I do get a rating for my contentions (4 total) if I'm correct my DOD rating for depression would be deducted from anything I receive for the same issue, but that they can't touch the others? @slo-uuugghhh please don't say that I'm already nervous at thinking what's going on, or NOT going on at Pete's!
  11. @N.Kelly-hahahahaha yes I don't know what happened, I was struggling with it for a while! Thanks everyone, I've been watching Ebenefits more and its painful! Lol. I wasn't even sure how this claim would go! I've been out for 7 years already and was MEB'd for major depression at 10 percent DOD rating. I foolishly thought that was my VA rating and never did anything. I received a severance pay but I hadn't expected to get anything from VA. Although I've managed my condition without meds-ok maybe wine helps-but I've never really been able to afford regular therapy after getting out. Uuuugghhh, I'm hating this part of the process....
  12. Good evening everyone! I stumbled upon this site some time ago while doing research for my own ongoing claim, and after fighting with the captcha-lol-I finally joined after following you all to the point that I feel as if I know you! Let me say that being a vet of 12 yrs now working as a govt contractor, I admire the support everyone offers to each other here. I feel that now that I am a "civilian" my military counterparts (some not all) don't look at us as in the same boat anymore sadly, and one thing I always loved abt being in the military WAS that sense of family! Anywhoo, I am into my 8th month of what was supposed to have been a FDC. My VARO is St. Pete's, and after my last C&P in the beginning of Nov, I was surprised to see my claim speed up in Dec. A decision was made on the 4th and Peggy says I'm still in prep for notification! I'm getting nervous! Everyone else seems to have gotten theirs closed out a couple days or so after! Any ideas? This is my first ever claim and I had 4 issues put in.
