  1. I found this link, does the Bilateral Disabilities for you and adds it to your other Disabilities i hope the link works. www.pebforum.com/peb-calculator Ken
  2. Pete53 yes it was super quick, never thought it would be that fast and the answer was a good one also. Ken
  3. It work I got a answer back 1 hour and 35 min, I did it tiday and I have 5 clams they checked on, I hope it goes as fast for you. Ken
  4. Saicitia, ankle,Achilles and tinnitus can course your Knees to have problems, if your body is not lined up right and is out of sync, it can cause the abnormal wear on the knees, cause in arthritis, cartage problems and ligament tears. I know this because I have ankle problems ,Achilles, DDD (L1-L2,L2-L3,L3-L4,L4-L5)and tinnitus and it has affected my knees, waiting to file a clam on them because had surgery on my left ankle to fix a torn ligament and temp 100% is going thought right know do not want to slow it down, by adding another clam, just thought I would add my 2 cents on how it would affect you knees. what I think you should is to get the Doc to connect Knee and and the Saicitia, ankle,Achilles and tinnitus or you will have a hard time with the VA, they can try and tell you, you are wrong if the Doc says it is secondary, it make take a long time but you should get it, I hope I helped you. Ken
  5. jecsb4 all you have to do it get a consult from your Doc like Pete53 said, all your doc has to do is get the hospital director to to sign the paper work, don't take no fora answer they have to give it to you, also if you work, make sure they give you some work boots or shoes which ever you need, also when you go to get the shoes or inserts make sure they give you good ones, also try and get some regular shoes for normal walking, like running shoes or tennis shoes. I hope you have no problem getting them just don't take no for a answer, its you right to be comfortable. Ken
  6. tagandbag I would talk to the veterans Rep at the VA hospital you go to, I had a problem with being told, I could not have a service connected surgery on my ankle because it cost to much, I talked with VA rep and the shit hit the fan and now I am getting ready to get the cast off my ankle, after the surgery. I guess I am lucky about the shoes and inserts mine is farmed out to a local orthopedic place not the VA, so I get the good boots and inserts. Ken
  7. tagandbag You probably allready know this but the VA with give you shoes or inserts for plantar fascistic I get inserts and work boots, does not solve the problem but does help, plantar fascistic does hurt like hell just thought I would let you know about the boots and inserts if you did not know. Ken
  8. deyjason I have IBS rated at 30%, you need to tell your doc what you stated, about having daily episodes of diarrhea with abdominal distress occur 1,2, or more times a day. That would be Severe; diarrhea, or alternating diarrhea and constipation, with more or less constant abdominal distress..................................................................... 30 Just make sure your doc states it on the records and you get a cope and send it in with your NOD, at least you got serves connected at 0% does not sound like a lot but that is the hard part some times, it will take time but don't give up. I hope it work out for you, if you have any questions just ask. Ken
  9. Hey rgero311975 I know you know this but you have to watch how you word things with the VA, they will take it out of context for their own good, not to help you. I also have a back injury rated by the VA, I got my IBS secondary to my medications, it took a long time, they tried no to give it to me but the Doc said it was the medication that caused it. I think you need to tell your Doc how the pain aggravates your depression and tell every doc, nurse and social worker every time you see them and make sure the write it down on your records and get copes. I hope that helps. Ken
  10. Here is a report about "Atomic Vets", it was brought up so i thought I would post it, it is a lot of reading and some good info. Ken Sorry forgot the link http://www1.va.gov/vhi/docs/Radiationfinal.pdf Ken
  11. When I was in RAF lackenheath England, we had F 111, we had a regulation that said not to walk in front of aircraft when the light was on, because of the radiation coming from the aircraft, it also stated that it would course you to be sterile and I also have no kids, I guess it worked, as for the light we had to stand in front of it when we were on alert for the planes to take off and of course the light was on while we were in front of them. I hope that might help you. Ken
  12. Thanks I thought it might answer some questions that people might have. Ken
  13. Here is a web site for V A math and other questions. http://www.purpleheart.org/Membership/Publ...ak-Wed%20PM.pdf Ken
  14. etihwr just to let you know they combine the % when you get a bilateral factor, 20 and 20 are 40, you 40% of a 100% and the bilateral factor and the 3.6 was added by using the bilateral factor. I was in my reps office and he showed me on the comp he was using, they add the bilateral factor on one chart and added it to you other disability using a different chart. also I was just telling someone else that ask a question what happened to me, as for the way you talk to people about if you know math and tacking shortcuts on spreed sheets and asking for the easy way to do things, there is a nicer way to talk to people, you. Talk to them not at them or down to them. I know how to use charts, I can read, don,t thank people are all dumb on here. Ken
  15. There is a chart that computes bilateral factor, my Rep in Little Rock showed it to me, they add the to disability on a separate chart. My disability on both ankles which are 20% for each, they added the 20% and 20% and got 43.6%, but the answer to the question is they do have a chart that computes bilateral factor. Ken
  16. We will have to wait and see, what come of my clam dates. I will let you know if it works out. We did send all the information to the VA and have been called by them 2 times on info they needed. I understand what you are talking about being pretty specific, all I can say for the VA not calling it a Audit, is when the VA called me they ask me about the Audit I had sent them, we will see what happens and for being pretty specific the VA all way finds a way say it was written wrong, when we used the Diagnostic Code and disability it worked out fine and never had a problem. I hope it comes out right for everybody. Ken
  17. broncovet, I found form # VA form 21-4138, What my Rep wrote on the form. It is requested that the VA RO conduct a review if the effective dates for the following issues. Effective Dates for the following: 1. The code number and the clam. example DC 5015-5271 Left Ankle Sprain 2. 3. 4. The reason we had to do this is because they went back to the dates of the NOD not the dates of the initial Claim. I hope thet will help. KEN
  18. I did my audit though my VA rep in Little Rock, he showed me how to do it, we used the same form you would do a normal claim on, sorry I do not know the form number. I will look for it when I get a chance, I had surgery on my ankle hard to get around.I got the form back from the VA for any other info I had, and sent it back, so I know they got it, I will let you know how if works or not. I know one thing the VA will not tell you anything about how to do it, you have to have someone tell you or get lucky and find it yourself. I did have 2 different people tell me to do a audit, one worked for the county VA and the other for the American legion my Rep, I will look for the form numbers in the morning. I hope the info did help. KEN
  19. If you know the dates are wrong they gave you, you need to request a audit on the dates. I have 4 clams being audited at this time, the dates were all wrong they gave me. I will let you know how it works out. KEN
  20. I sent in a NOD on 4 clams in march of 2008 called them in Aug 2008, was told no NODS had been received. I called the county VA rep, and was told to take my folder from the county office to the VA in little Rock Ar. I got to little rock talked to a Rep, she could not answer any of my questions and told me I should go to lunch, I ask to talk to supervise when I got back, when I returned the supervisor talked with me about the records not being in my C file, he told me they never received them almost called me a liar, so I pulled out the file form my local county VA and it had all the dates the claims were sent off and the conformation the little rock VA had sent the county. I never seen someone move as fast as he did, my file was found a hour later under some paper in the appeals office. They never did find the the NODS in their paper work, but I had mine so they had to give me the original dates. I think you should take your county folder to your VA office and show them the dates, they received your paper work, your county VA should have all the dates in your file. I hope that can help you.
  21. I had 4 NODS back in march of 2008, I called them in Jun of 2008 and was told the clams were being worked called back Aug 2008 and was told they had never received the NODS, had to take my file from the local county office to the regional office to prove I had filed the clams, got a C&P for back, no other clam, received rating for 2 clams in Jan of 2009. Waiting for the other clams to come back at this time and one of the claims I am waiting on is my back , also had to file for temp 100% for surgery, I had on one of the clams they are working now. They work slow up at the regional offices sometime, I hope you here back soon and it goes your way. Ken
  22. This might sound right, but I had a friend that worked with me, on another shift. When I got to work to relive him, I ask where he was and I was told the VA called him and told him he could not work anymore and he had to quiet work that day, so he got 100% unemployee ability, while he was working. I do not know how it worked, but it did. Has anyone else herd of this. Ken
  23. I also have bi-latteral planter fascitits, I have filled a clam with VA on it being secondary to my ankle and heel problems, I have heel spurs and problems with my Achilles tendons on both feet, my orthopedic surgeon stated that in his report on me to the VA. With the VA you have to have the Doc make it in writing for them, or they do not believe you, I hope it works out for you o n your clam. KEN
  24. Hey Bufloguy, I have the anterior talofibular ligaments in my left and right ankle gone, I get 20% for each because of limited motion, not any for the ligament ruptured, when you get the surgery make sure and file for temp 100% rating. I just had the surgery to fix it on the 9 of april. I hope that might tell you something about how the rating works. Ken
  25. I submitted my claim about 2 weeks before my ankle surgery on April 9 2009, My wife was called by the VA while I was on the table in little rock, they wanted to know why my surgery did not show up on the their comp, that I was having in Fayettevile ar, She told them because he is in little rock getting it done LOL. I guess they are a little slow with paper work getting on the comp. I was sent the paper work for move evidence and the 30 day weight time on the 11 of April and submitted it to them on the 12, that is whatI know, I will let you know when find out, but I think it might matter what state you are in some are slower then others. If your back is not service connected it might take longer. I submitted my back 3 years ago, it was service connected for L3,L4,L5 the first time but low balled, claim is going through now C&P Doc gave you report on it this time. Hope your claim goes quick. Ken
