I never said it wasn't solid advise bud...infact I informed you that I called "Peggy" so that would lead one to think the advise was taken, yes? I am guilty of asking the question on a few forums, yes, and I explained as such. Its not like you suggested "Peggy" and I blew it off...so again, thanks and my question was answered by your SOLID advise....not sure what else I can do for you bud, if you were closer I'd buy you a beer or something, lol
-
Thanks for the advise fella's...I know its a slow process and that is not a problem.....Navy4life, again I posted on this forum the same time as the other, for various opinions from various posters....so yes you are correct that I posted on yuku. I did call Peggy and he gave me a fax number to send some things to. He said, while reviewing my claim, that I did check box 7a, and if I did not mean to do that then to fax a letter to the number he gave me explaining what happened and they can remove it, he can't.
He also said about the drinking water, yes as far as he understands, New River is covered in the LeJeune situation.....I found some more supporting docs stating such, so he said to fax that in as well, and explain it again.

Received word today on my new claim with the VA....seems I must have checked SAH and since I didn't submit a 26-4555 the claim will not be a FDC now, but will be standard claim...I must have been crossed eyed and I didn't see or mean to do this in my claim, is it to late to say, 'never mind'? and if I can will my claim got back to a FDC?
Also I claimed exposure to the contaminated drinking water at Lejeune....It then stated my personnel records show I was at New River, and plz submit evidence of service at Lejeune....I submitted some papework that stated being stationed at New River was also considered as being part of the Lejeune problem...did I misread or was I freaken plain wrong?

Gotcha, thanks

Yea I called the NPRC up and they sent me over a form to request either my entire SRB or parts of it. Of course back when I was in it was all paper docs so someone has to go in the 'back' and dig out the records from millions of others.
Maybe I missed the point, you're saying my C file is the same as the SRB? And how do I go about requesting my C file from the VA? Phone?
-
Gotcha Texas, will do then, appreciate it.

I wondered about that Navy, as when my med records were sent to me from the archives place the VA said they had received their copy already, so I didn't have to send the doc in....so do you think if I am filing a claim and the time on the Midway and also at New River I won't have to send those docs in as they should have them?
-
Understood Wacc, but if I've done an intent to file, is that not the date the claim will go back to regardless?
-
Faxed in the form for some documentation from my USMC SRB...my question is as I am doing a new claim on ebenefits should I wait for the info to come back from NPRC in St Louis, which will take weeks, or just go ahead and file online and scan what I have and submit the additional docs from NPRC when they arrive? I thought scanning something in after you've submitted your claim slows it down, but waiting will slow it down too....hmmm, confused.
-
Thanks brother I didn't think of that. I did a quick online search and it directed me to National Personnel Records Center in St Louis, so I will give them a call in a bit. Again, thx

Doing some more VA ebenefit documentation. There are two things that I am trying to find, my sea duty time on the USS Midway, and one duty station where I did training for 6 months, MCAS New River. Neither of these are on my DD214's so is there anyway to find documentation of such things while in the Marine Corps?
-
Great idea Eagle and thanks...Merry Christmas to you and your family brother.
-
Yea I don't get that math...but I am doing another claim or two and some other things as well.
-
Ok gotcha....for all the info.
-
Thanks Navy, appreciate the kind words but don't most all here have issues here bud? Now you make me feel my issues are more severe than anyone on here, lol. Maybe being paranoid is a new one for me

I can post them bronco, but I did use that chart and it was 40% for pay....but if you look at the numbers and count like we learned in school it would be 50%. But I get how the VA does thing, (getting used to it). hahaha
0% hearing loss left ear
10% left knee meniscal tear with instablility, (claimed as knee condition, left knee)
20% degenerative joint disease, lumbar spine, (claimed as back injury)
10% osteoarthritis, left knee
10% tinnitus
hearing loss right ear, not service connected.
So it seems its 50% but what that chart it looks to be 40%. And I like how for retro even though it shows effective date Jan 14, 2015, for pay it didn't start until Feb. Its ok, it was still a nice check and I appreciate it all the same, a blessing.
Anyways bronco, there you go brother, or whomever else wants to do their 'rithmetic or guzinta's haha

Thanks Allan, Talon and everyone, great advise

Thanks for the info guys..... Yea can't hurt to get a vet card. Is it true that the card doesn't show u have a disability rating?.... And will make appt to see a PCP... thanks again
-
Thanks everyone...appreciate it....I am still getting used to the VA math and I need to change it on my profile, I forgot. My ratings add up to 50% but with the VA chart I get paid for 40%, thanks for reminding me of that, need to change it

New guy here. I am newly rated 50%, 40% pay, hearing/back/knee/tinnitus I am a former Marine, Airwing type, active duty, 78-85. Then went into the Air National Guard as a civilian and reservist. I retired from there in 1994.
Worked my whole life in aviation, USMC, Guard, Usair and then Southwest Airlines since 96. I am on a MLOA from them since July 2014, diagnosed prostate cancer. I was not in good shape last year, couldn't even walk. Now I am able to walk and I am feel much better.
I have 3 grown daughters, and now a 2 1/2 year old daughter and a 7 year old step son.
Think thats about it.

Have read about the water prob at Lejune for a while now....I have read some reports stating if you were stationed at New River you are included, but I can't be sure if this is accurate.
I was with HMM264, TME unit, for 7 months in 1979. Does anyone know about New River being included?

Thanks guys...yall are so helpful. Now don't think I'm trying to be a troublemaker already, haha, but I did call both the VA and also FT Meade VA clinic and they both said the same thing to me:
I do not need the Veterans card if I have a military card. They both said that the Vet card doesn't show you're disabled or anything, its mostly used to get on the base, or to use at Lowes, etc..obviously my ID card will do the same.
They both also said I do not need to go in a see anyone in the VA clinic unless I want to. I do not need a PCP type pick now or anything. I only will be required to go in when or if they ask me to, ie: a NOD or a new claim, etc.
Anyways, just say'n that is what both the VA and also the VA clinic at Ft Meade told me.
