  1. On the VA website site, it says 662 this year. I normally get mine right around Aug 28th.
  2. In 2002 - my doc recommended I do HRT for some of the problems I was having. After questions he asked and seeing my family history, we decided a little pain was better than a higher risk of getting cancer. Like Free said there is a Link - in some women the risk is higher. Here's an article I found on the subject. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16206352/
  3. Berta, I use the USB cable for my camera. It's the third digital I've had. I'm too cheap to buy the printer! I've been working with digital for the last 5 years or so. I do a lot of my family photos, pets, wildlife and general fun stuff with mine. I used to have one with all the bells and whistles but realized I didn't need all that or didn't use half the features that came with camera. I use probably 3 different kinds of software. I have also done quite a few slideshows for family and some movies with pics a time or two. It's a lot of fun and you'll find it quite cool when you get used to it.

    Advice Needed

Sounds like a virus to me - We use NOD - they have a 30 day trial and then about 30-39 bucks a year after that. Nod 32 Clean out your internet files and cookies and your temp folder. Alot of times viruses run from you Temp folder. You can also go under MSCONFIG - STARTUP and uncheck any programs in there - restart then run your antivirus. Worse case scenario is it's mucking up your registry - I don't recommend editing it unless you know 100% what your doing. Need to find the virus first. NOD can be run from safe mode as well.

    Color

I had the same prob, I redid the alignment test which lines up all your colors to print from the computer.
  6. I had a problem with VA Education Benefits. The school I was attending screwed up my semester hours and the VA decided they would try to take back 10,000. I was livid and let the school have it, they finally changed all but one semester and I got the amount down to about 2,000. Even that 2,000 went to the school but I had to pay it back so they said. They were garnishing my disability and I had to keep on them so they only took the 2,000 and not more. Finally done paying on that and now have my full disability check.
  7. I have never personally used a mac. Everyone I know that uses them says they are great for webwork, photography, video editing, graphics etc. Anymore Mac's come with a Document editor that is easily read by Microsoft Office products. So conversion of your info to a PC is much easier now a days. Good luck with finding a solution.
  8. EMDR - I forgot to add this link for you. This is just general and EMDR treatment is different for every situation, fortunately my daughter and I were able to go through the same treatment simultaneously. My case of anxiety is mild compared to PTSD anxiety. EMDR - http://www.emdr.com/
  9. I've had anxiety disorder for quite a few years, not related to PTSD though. Mine are more from childhood fears and began to get worse after my children were born. I was constantly out of breath and hyperventilating in stressful situations ie in large crowds - I had a fear of getting trapped somewhere and not getting out. Well we put my daughter through these EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)sessions for sexual abuse and I asked if I go through them with her for the anxiety issues. I did and I haven't had an anxiety attack since (about 6 months) I also worked on other issues related to family and no longer have the fears I had before, even nightmares related to these issues have stopped. I'm told they are now starting to try EMDR on soldiers on the east coast for PTSD and other mental related disabilities from the military. Look into this and see if in your area there is an EMDR specialist. I will say I was very skeptic walking into it and thinking my daughter would never get help, one session broke her cycle of violence and then after about 6 months we have a normal child now. It took me about 4 sessions and I'm so much better now. We have both come off of psychotropic medications.
  10. Tbird, I'm willing to help where I can too, Now that I mostly work from home I have quite a bit of free time lately. Bill and I own a website business so I'm proficient in html. Let me know what I can do to help, even if it's question and answers for those working on articles.
  11. When I found out I had sleep apnea, I was a wreck - I had gained 80 lbs, I was depressed, on the verge of going insane. I was on the CPAP for a little over a year. I have managed to lose all but 20 lbs I put on and now am at the point with the sleep apnea all I need is the breath right strips. I am much happier and get quality sleep! You don't realize what sleep does for you till you go without it for a few years.
  12. Tbird, Looks ok on Mozilla, can't see the logged in as on the 2nd header, but to me I know who I am so it's not an issue. When I log in Mozilla resizes automatically so no need to scroll. In IE is came up just fine as well no width problems.
  13. Sherry, I'm 30 and have arthritis, I have no cartilage in my ankles and flat feet. I asked for a scooter 2 years ago when the pain was increasing beyond my control. The doc instead had me fitted for cuffs and strong braces so the pain was eased off a bit. Ask your doc for alternatives like the sturdy insoles or some kind of cuff. Even with support I still have pain but it's manageable and I am mobile and not stuck to a scooter. No I can't run, but my kids still enjoy my company.
  14. I personally know how this is, on the nights I sleep really well I feel great pain wise, on sleepless nights I hurt for hours and have to take pain killers during the day. Not a fun road to be down.
  15. This is just sickening!! I would love to hear this Mr. Bodkin say to my daughter "Maybe you don't need to work through what is bothering you. Maybe you need to get over what is bothering you," She has post traumatic stress from 5 years of sexual abuse.. I would also love to be a fly on the wall with any PTSD Vet when he says that to them, I sure wouldn't be stopping any one from getting "angry".. Maybe then he would really know what PTSD is like when someone gets through with him.

    Help!

Just a note - when I was in editing my profile info, it wouldn't let me proceed without putting in my birth date - frustrating but once I put in I got to go forward
  17. I'm on Mozilla and it's looks good to me. I am seeing an offset in the very top banner that I don't see in IE. It's no biggy to me as I can still see everything else properly. I am attaching a print screen so you can see what I am seeing.
  18. I have arthritis and take Omega 3, I noticed a little more pain in my ankles but has alleviated since I started taking osteo biflex once a day. They also have just straight glucosamine as well. I was having a lot of trouble with general stiffness (not painful) that has alleviated in most of my joints.
  19. One thing I did that made a huge difference was get everything you can possibly get your hands on. All medical records, evaluations, and documentation about your conditions. Start a journal, write it in daily on how your feeling and what your conditions are like each day. Don't tell someone your fine or great if your not. It can come back to haunt you later. I know it's not a task everyone can do, but I took my military records to a private doctor, had him transcribe them into layman terms for me. I found lots of little notes indicating disability but weren't visible to the layman eye. Research, Research, Research! Ask questions, expect answers.
  20. Almost all state websites have veteran's benefits posted. I have found just doing a search within a website I can usually find what I need. Any time we know we're visiting a state, I go to that website and look around. Like a year ago I went to Kansas and wanted to go fishing, I was able to get a discounted license. Most places that offer discounts/ services, require you bring your determination letter or VA ID. When you go for recreational activities, be sure to tell them your a SC Veteran, I have found if they offer special discounts they won't tell you up front. Here is a list of all the state websites. They are in alphabetical order. Maybe Tbird can find an appropriate place to put these. http://www.alabama.gov http://www.state.ak.us http://www.az.gov http://www.state.ar.us http://www.state.ca.us http://www.colorado.gov http://www.state.ct.us http://www.delaware.gov http://www.dc.gov http://www.myflorida.com http://www.georgia.gov http://www.ehawaiigov.org http://www.accessidaho.org http://www100.state.il.us http://www.state.in.us/ http://www.iowa.org http://www.accesskansas.org http://www.kydirect.net http://www.state.la.us http://www.state.me.us http://www.maryland.gov http://www.mass.gov http://www.michigan.gov http://www.state.mn.us http://www.mississippi.gov http://www.state.mo.us http://www.discoveringmontana.com http://www.state.ne.us http://silver.state.nv.us http://www.state.nh.us http://www.state.nj.us http://www.state.nm.us http://www.state.ny.us http://www.ncgov.com http://discovernd.com http://www.state.oh.us http://www.youroklahoma.com http://www.oregon.gov http://www.state.pa.us http://www.ri.gov http://www.state.sd.us http://www.myscgov.com http://www.tennesseeanytime.org http://www.state.tx.us http://www.utah.gov http://www.state.vt.us http://www.vipnet.org http://access.wa.gov http://www.state.wv.us http://www.wisconsin.gov http://www.state.wy.us
