  1. ACTUALLY THERE ARE TWO CARDS THAT CAN BE USED FOR CREDIT ON-LINE AND WELL AT ALL BASES... The Chase Military Rewards Star Card............ can be used any place military or civilian... then there is a Card that can only be used On-line or at Military bases this card is called the Military Star Card this card is GLODEN in color and has large stars on the front and has not expiration date on card...... wish folks would actually look and know the real facts

The Military star card is an actual credit card issued by a bank. It is like any other credit card. I know things happen but with the secure income from the military a person needs to pay their bills. If a person becomes disabled for any reason, the card has insurance ( Separate fee of course) to help.

Commissary and exchange privleges are currently a benefit for 100 percent Disabled Vets as well as active and retired military.

I dont see the criteria changing any time soon.

  2. Do you have implants due to your AO IHD ?... I ask this for a real reason..... it may help you to answer.. beside stints.....

Got an out of the blue phone call from my VAMC last week. Seems the VARO had ordered a C&P for claims that they had previously and seemingly arbitrarily denied without a C&P. The claims are related to IHD and DMII as secondary. There is still no "final" just "proposed" regs concerning IHD. IHD was not mentioned in the call. There is an active claim for IHD. My medical history fully supports 100% for IHD, and the combination of DMII and IHD, as well as treating physician's IMO's (that the VA previously ignored) support secondary conditions. DMII is currently SC'D at the usual low %, so I have no choice to show up for the C&P. Again, the VA has a C&P test scheduled that is clearly not appropriate, based upon my medical history and VA regs concerning IHD.

Anybody have any ideas as to what scheme the VA has cooked up now?

Did somebody review my file, due to the IHD claim, and say oops, we screwed up?

Without the presumption for IHD, I was/am facing a long and drawn out CUE process.

(Due to the VARO claiming that they never received a hand delivered NOD.)

Maybe getting a lawyer involved, filing for IHD in October 09, and changing my "representative" from the state/VFW VSO to the lawyer toggled something?

Is the VA doing and end run around the secretary's letter concerning IHD and C&Ps?

Deny, Delay, Obfuscate and Hope they Die may be the new mantra?

  3. Guns, you would not like me, I've been certified, mesmorizedd, and demorialized....

Hello to all my fellow VETS. I just wanted to introduce myself and let you all know that I am looking forward to sharing the wealth of knowledge contained on this forum. Heck, would be nice to meet some new friends as well.

  4. Read that long ago... was bussy laughing as the date went farther and farther out..... was waiting for a review by the supremes.... at 325 RVN Vets eating the dirt everey day they can save a few bucks for more TARP giveaways....

Suggest you refer to Veterans Benifits Forum, AO Forum and read post 5-14-10 by LULA. It is a letter from the Secretaries office explaining the current status of the final regulation and a possible secondary process. It is entitled "Response to my E-mail to Secretary of the VA. It made my day.
  5. I will go against the "fat Chance" remark and double down on the "Cold Day in Hell" principle

Followed this process very closely from it's inception to the present state. July 2009 IOM notifies Secretary, Secretary makes announcement October 13, 2009. The proposed regulation sat with the VA until the end of December when it was referred and recieved at OMB and sat there until March 2010, and violated the 210 day period for publication. Then it moved ahead when the lawsuit was threatened. Now I read where another OMB review period of 60 to 90 days applies, it already sat there for 60 days. Plus the possibility of a Congressional review. I read the okie dok letter from the Office of General Council, have alerted NVLSP regarding this abortion, and hopefully they will help the pathetic dribble in the VA remember their Duty to Assist responsibility as well as expeditiously reconcile any legal disparities in the Veterans favor. Don't need any fat chance that will happen comments from the forum which usually flow freely from a select few who delight in insidious comments. Those comments should be made to the peckerw--ds in DC.

    .

What they have done is pushed the date up and people like myself who retracted secondary conditions to IHD from their claims so that they would flow quickly are now forced to file for valid secondary conditions or lose that right because a year will have passed. Another flood of legitimate claims are going to flop at their door.

30% PTSD Awarded after 44 years, 60% IHD stacked and all elements completed pending resolution of this fiasco!

  6. VA Application for Health Benefits: Veterans will find it easier and faster to apply for their health care benefits now that the Department of Veterans Affairs has updated its online Form 10-10EZ, "Application for Health Benefits." This revised online application provides enhanced navigation features that make it easier and faster for Veterans to apply for their health care benefits. This new version also allows Veterans to save a copy of the completed form for their personal records. The most significant enhancement allows Veterans to save their application to their local desktop and return to the application at any time without having to start over. Previously, Veterans had to complete the form in a single session. This updated online form, along with the revised VA Form 10-10EZ, reduces the collection of information from Veterans by eliminating some questions. In addition, there are minor changes to simplify the wording of questions and provide clarity in the instructions. Further enhancements to the online application are expected to be delivered in increments throughout 2010. Veterans may complete or download the 10-10EZ form at the VA health eligibility website at https://www.1010ez.med.va.gov/sec/vha/1010ez. To have the VA Form 10-10EZ mailed to you or if you have any questions, call at 1-877-222-VETS begin_of_the_skype_highlighting 1-877-222-VETS end_of_the_skype_highlighting (8387) or visit the VA health eligibility website at www.va.gov/healtheligibility.. Once you have completed the form, you may mail or fax the completed form (signed and dated) to your local VA Medical Center or Clinic which can be located at http://www2.va.gov/directory/guide/home.asp?isflash=1

  9. Still R

I think the VA is on a hiring binge. The joint is probably in chaos as John says. They advertise on the military channel for medical personnel all the time, and even pay a bounty for current doctors who bring other doctors to work for the VA. Of course, they still may cut off your leg when you go to the ER for a sore throat. I have missed two C&P exams in the past. One the doctor did not show up, and they blamed me and denied my claim. The other I never got a notice, and they denied my claim. I got it right eventually. This is why I am paranoid and hate society. The VA did it to me. I used to just be crazy.
  10. My claim for AO IHD was all finished and put on hold till they can start awarding the claims, the process for myclaim started 26Oct2009 and all evidence and C&P done in January 2010......

Good luck to us all at 325 dead a day.....

    That is a

    holocaust. of RVN Vets......

So much for rushing around getting this on the Federal Register and shorting the comments period to 30 days instead of 60 or 90......Just as ALWAYS.....the Vietnam Vets are left sucking the hind tit....What happened to putting this on TOP PRIORITY.....Yep, just hope I'm still around but that could be doubtful with my MAJOR "ISCHEMIC HEART DISEASE" and also the possibility of having Multiple Myeloma as well...Presently being tested for it NOW by the VA......BUT rest assured my WIFE knows all there is to know on DIC....I have made sure that....So MR. VA, you might screw me but you WILL NOT screw my wife....
  11. If the VA OMB and congress screw around it is going to be another six months before they bother to even to start the process to award the 3 AO's...

Is anyone surprised, at the rate 0f 325 RVN vets getting a dirt knap each day.... how many more of us are going to be dead ?

do the math 180 days times 325 equals/////// ???? dead veterans not getting compensation

any one see a link ?

  12. You will just fine, just do not go sky diving and swimming, they can lead to an early departure, and at you young age you can probably still work and be happy, you just have to know your limits, and when to slow down, some folks go for the gusto and are runners and all sorts of stuff, others are afraid.... do what your Doctor tells you no more..

Thanks to all of you. Looks like I'll be getting that 100%. I just want to be able to go out and get another job.
