While in the Navy, I went to sickcall quite a few times for joint and lower back pain. However the docs & corpsmen would send me on my way with no diagnosis. Does this mean I can't file a claim with VA without a diagnosis while on active duty even though I went to sick call on numerous occassions? Liz

I went to bootcamp jan20-the end of March 1972 and I didn't get a picture book when I graduated, just a group photo.

Good evening: Is there anyway I can get some type of unit history for my boot camp company? I have tried numerous times to get my boot camp records from the records place at St Louis but the first 4 years of my service record is always missing & yes I have let people there know I have broken service. Do any of you know of any sites I might visit to get a history of basic training I went to NTC Bainbridge MD & I was in company 7223. meanwhile I will keep plugging on the Internet. Liz

i told my doctor what I was going to do before I did it & no I have never been diagnosed as bi-polar until I got to Fayetteville AR. I complained about lower back & leg pain waking me up at night so my shrink put me on litium. Is lower back & leg pain keeping you awake at night a sypmtom of being bi-polar?

I decided to ween(sp) myself off litium after the holidays. It has been almost a month and no more embarrasing "accidents!" No more shaking hands and my sense of balance seems to have improved! Of course I feel more irritable. But what's a little irritablity among friends? Liz

I have another question...or two: Can you have major depressive disorder and alcoholism without having PTSD? I have done research on PTSD and have discovered I have a lot of the syptoms of PTSD. How can that be? VA says that I didn't have any experiences that could possibly trigger PTSD. Instead they focus on my drinking entirely. Sorry, but I do get frustrated with VA sometimes. Liz

I was put on lithium about a year ago because I was whinning to my shrink about lower back pain and leg pain waking me up at night. I guess having that problem somehow makes me bi-polar. B) Anyway, I was able to sleep better but wouldn't wake up in time to get to the bathroom. My hands also shake especially when nervous. Some times I will drop things...fingers go limp without warning....creepy. I have tried to tell my shrink and my primary care doctor about this on several occassions but they either don't listen at all or make light of the proble. Come to think of it, that's pretty much how they respond to all my concerns. Anyone else out there on this wonder drug have the same side effects? :) liz

So how does a female vet request this MST if her VAMC will not coperate? My mental health clinic maintains that I have no sexual trauma proble but I'm a substance abusing borderline personality type.
