I think that I'd answer again because not sure what the last post says. There is no offset when you combine SSDI to VA compensation.

I don't think it would do any good to get a lawyer to apply for SSDI as they almost always will not take your case until your turned down. I take that you don't have an active application since you didn't mention any reconsideration requests. You should be able to apply yourself and get as much info together as possible to turn into the SSA folks. Steve

Congratulations. It really isn't surprising (except for the folks that say that everyone is denied the first time) because almost 60% are actually approved the first time around and 6 months is the average for first timers. You will get the statements it took 3 years but these aren't initial decisions but appeals. Steve

I have to agree that there is always a chance of losing IU when you open the door for a reevaluation. You are now IU P&T which gives the same pay/benefits as 100% schedular P&T (except if your military retired and even this is being worked on). Steve

No, the pay chart has just been changed today to the the correct amount $2669 for veteran with spouse. Yesterday it showed $2772! Steve

Did anyone notice that they made a mistake on 100% member with spouse; they show 2772 which is the same as member with spouse and child. I believe the new pay should be about $2660 or so. I would expect VA to correct this error soon. Steve

I would say that a Request for Reconsideration (remember that nowhere in the reconsideration are you to say that you disagree with the decision) would be much faster. I used the reconsideration at the local level because I had new evidence. I received a decision in about 4 months. Steve
