If you have both conditions the VA will see which one was diagnosed first. If HTN was first then they will say that the Sleep Apnea is not secondary to HTN. Now yucanb go after the aggravation factor of OSA and its effects on Blood Pressure.

You need a MD to connect the dots with an opinion and a nexus as to your spacific issues.

You may have to go to a sleep specialist or Cardiologist to get one. The VA is not likely to render an opinion unless it is at a C&P exam.

A Veteran is a person who served this country. Treat them with respect.

A Disabled Veteran is a person who served this country and bears the scars of that service regardless of when or where they served.

Treat them with the upmost respect. I do. Rejection is not a sign of failure. Failure is not an option, Medical opinions and evidence wins claims. Trust in others is a virtue but you take the T out of Trust and you are left with Rust so be wise about who you are dealing with.

If you are an incountry Vietnam veteran you should immediately file for SC of the DMII due you your conceded exposure to Agent Orange-(ALL incountry Nam vets were exposed to AO and dont have to prove it)

My husband lost his Commander (USMC Nam) who they all called the OLD MAN-they were all devastated by this loss under fire-

( I was shocked when I found out how 'old' the old man in Vietnam was-he was 23-much older than the Marines under him-)

I am in the process of getting all my ducks in a row for my sleep apnea claim. My cardio dr is supposed to be sending me a letter to connect the two and my diabetes 2. If you like I will post what he has to say when I get it. I also have a meeting set up with my VSO on Thursday I will again let you know if any thing comes out of it.

I was diagnosed with Hypertension in 2005 and the sleep apnea in 2007 so should be interesting. The other thing is in talking with my VSO he recommended a buddy letter from someone that served with you and say about how you snore and always claimed you were tired during the day. Oh well hope this helps and good luck with your claim!

Hey Berta, Hope all is well with you. As I mentioned going to meet with my NEW VSO on Thursday the other guy retired I think. Anyhow when I called this time to meet with him he asked who was helping me with my claim I just told him some friends!

Good luck with all your claimsand thank TBird for the Hadit!
