1-800 Number -- Back To Regional?

Rate this question

Ron II

Question

Has the VA gone back to a system where calls to the 1-800 number are normally answered by the applicable regional office?

I've noticed that I've been assisted during my last seven calls  by my servicing VARO, rather than the centralized system.

Ron,

Good for you that you are, I am still getting South Carolina and they

know absolutely nothing to tell me about my claim.

They say their computers don't tell them anything.

They try, but their hands are tied!

I would love once to get ahold of my R. O and tell them what I

think of them. My R. O is just a lazy bunch collecting a pay check.

Ron,

This isn't fair, for I bet you, I have written more letters

than you have and I am getting no where.

Maybe, I just need to act a little dumber in my letters

and quit quoting to them their rules and regulations.

Have a good one!

I was told that they try to route the call to the closest call center geographically to the caller. If the lines are tied up at that one, then it moves to whoever is available. Also, the call centers that we get now aren't actually in the RO, but they are usually in the same city...again, this is what I was told by the 800# a few months ago. I usually get the Nashville, TN call center, which is the same city as my RO, but they said they were actually several blocks from the RO.

Interestingly,

when I call the 800 # from home, I always get the Atlanta RO. Then, I will call from my cell, which has a Virginia area code, and get the Roanoke office.

I would normally call the Roanoke office first just to see what they can tell me, then I'll call from home and see if the info is the same. :P

Usually, the Atlanta RO will provide me more detailed info, while I get some basic info from Roanoke.

MRRRR5,

I shall be trying this one in the morning. My cell phone is a Virginia

area code and I am trying to reach Roanoke to see what they

did with my TDIU Form.

When I call I always get the South Carolina VA.

I will let everyone know if it works.

Thanks,

Betty
