Sorry it has been a few days, family drama has been going on. I'd like to post the email my congressional contact got and then forwarded to me. How long do we have to wait, now?! Any ideas?

I just recently received this message verbatim from the VA Regional Office:

“Brian XXXXXXX

The Decision Review Officer has just informed me that his case has been rated. It is with a member of the appeals team who completes the input into the system. I will keep you posted. “

I just wanted to let you and your family know that we are doing everything we can. I will be in touch further as I receive any further updates. I tried to contact you via telephone, but the Verizon numbers were not currently in service.

Take care,

You can call your POA and they should be able to get you an answer. It wont be too long until you receive a formal decision.

The POA should have an office in the same building as the RO.

A Veteran is a person who served this country. Treat them with respect.

A Disabled Veteran is a person who served this country and bears the scars of that service regardless of when or where they served.

Treat them with the upmost respect. I do. Rejection is not a sign of failure. Failure is not an option, Medical opinions and evidence wins claims. Trust in others is a virtue but you take the T out of Trust and you are left with Rust so be wise about who you are dealing with.

We don't have a POA. Our last one was a jerk, and we never found another one.

This has worked for me a few times. Dial the 1800 number and ask what your curent rateing is. Thats the way to get around waiting on the letter

Delay, Delay, Delay another thousand Vets will die today. This has been almost a 9 year trip thru the VA maze.

Thanks, Jim MAC, I'll do that as soon as he gets back. They still won't tell me anything unless I have him around.

Belle:

As frustrating as it is the award will come. It will seem like forever but you are very close as compared to where you started.

Good Luck and Congrats you put together a powerful claim.

Veterans deserve real choice for their health care.
