For all the rumors the VA really very seldom reduces awards. Anyone here have their award reduced?

Pete,

A few years back, a VA rating finally granted me 10 % for DC 8045.

I NOD'ed the effective date of the 10 % grant.

VA responded to this by calling CUE with a proposal to terminate the

grants stating it was not allowed and would be pyramiding.

While I was waiting for a personal hearing, VA terminated the 10 %.

I went to my hearing, presented medical evidence showing that the

10% was to be a separate rating and not combined with any other.

VA re-awarded my 10 % - but only back to the date of their original grant for it.

I'm currently at BVA and AMC with the effective date issue.

Thanks Carlie and Rental and although any reduction can be hard on any Veteran to deal with considering the hoops that we are put through. I do remember a Veteran who claimed he had been cut on the Board I still stand by saying that in over 17 years of my dealing with VA and being active on Hadit and Prodigy Veteran Boards I have not seen many attemps by VA to reduce. I will add that I have seen Social Security try a few times but even than they were fairly easy to beat back.

Anyone on Hadit have VA try to reduce their awards please let us know. I would also like to hear from Veterans that are worried enough about it to cause loss of sleep over it.

Thanks to all who respond top this thread
