Question

I would appreciate someone with the ability to explain the results of my hearing test going into the service and coming out.

Pre induction test R 250 - 500=15, 1,000=15, 2,000=10, 3,000 -,4000=30

L 250- 500=10, 1,000=15, 2,000=15, 3,000- 4,000=10

separation test R 250- 500=15, 1,000=15,2,000=15, 3,000-, 4,000=15

L 250- 500=15, 1,000=15,2,000=15, 3,000-, 4,000=15

Do you see what I see?

No. But, then again, I flunked my separation eye exam....

"It is cold and we have no blankets.

The little children are freezing to death.

My people, some of them, have run away to the hills, and have no blankets, no food; no one knows where they are-perhaps freezing to death.

I want to have time to look for my children and see how many of them I can find.

Maybe I shall find them among the dead.

Hear me, my chiefs! I am tired; my heart is sick and sad.

From where the sun now stands, I will fight no more forever."

Larry my audiologist reviewed my records and said my hearing got better when I came out, almost perfect hearing! She is writing a letter stating it is totally inconsistand for my hearing to have gotten better there for the test is not worth the paper it is written on.

from what you posted below, your hearing got marginally worse when you got out. Maybe they made a simple mistake and got it backwards.

Nope the induction exam is the one that shows at 4,000 55/10 and not 15/15. I am in the middle of a NOD and asked for De nova review I think I will ask for and appointment to do a face to face. My audiologist is writing the letter for me and my hearing is way worse now.

How do I get this lie out of me records?

still,

I have SC'd hearing loss in the right ear, it is not bad enough

to be compensable.

According to what you've posted I would agree with your

Audiologist that your hearing has improved.

Pre-induction test, R 3,000-4,000=30 (worse)

Separation test, R 3,000-4,000=15 (better than pre-induction)

Anything that is 20 or under is considered normal hearing

Here is a fairly good web site to check out.

http://www.asha.org/public/hearing/testing/assess.htm

With regard to degree of hearing loss , the audiologist is looking for quantitative information. Hearing levels are expressed in decibels based on the pure tone average for the frequencies 500 to 4000 Hz and discussed using descriptors related to severity: normal hearing (0 to 20 dB HL), mild hearing loss (20-40 dB HL), moderate hearing loss (40-60 dB HL), severe (60 to 80 dB HL) and profound hearing loss (80 dB HL or greater).

I feel the results you posted are not a positive towards getting a claim

for hearing loss granted.

jmho,

carlie

Carlie passed away in November 2015 she is missed.
