I was already set up for DD, with SSA and received my retro direct deposit

about 2 weeks after receiving my fully favorable decision.

BTW - I believe SSA does not pay any $ for the first 5 months.

Usually dioes not take to long but call them and ask. Unlike the VA Social Security will usually level with you.

thanks for the replies, i hear vets say it usually takes about 30 days or less to receive your backpay. and sometimes it gets deposited into your bank before you receive your award letter.

i called the 800# today at social security and the guy gave me all my financial informaton. he gave me my backpay amount, monthly amount, my kids monthly amounts, what the lawyer was getting, how much they was taking out for medicare. is this a good sign that my money is coming soon.

ltate90, I'm not positive but I believe there's a 3-4 week delay, added to the standard processing time, because the atty is given a chance to appeal their payment figure. It took my sister about 60-75 days from her notification, to receive her payment, about a yr ago.
