Question

Does anyone have any experience or knowledge about the VA's PTSD clinic at Batavia, NY? I am being referred there for a 26 day program, and would like to have your thoughts - good, bad, or indifferent. Thanks,

Pat

Thanks to both of you for the information. As much as one can look forward to 26 days of shrinks, I guess I am looking forward to it....LOL

Provided a total, 100-percent rating cannot be assigned under other provisions of the rating schedule, assign a temporary 100 percent evaluation under 38 CFR 4.29 for

· periods of hospitalization in excess of 21 days for medical treatment of an SC disability, or

· a disability for which compensation is payable under either 38 U.S.C. 1151 or 38 U.S.C. 1160.

Thanks, Sharon! That looks pretty definite. Now the test will just be to see how long after the application that it takes to get paid.

i am also being referred there. ive heard bad things but from different sources, all of which i wouldnt bet on. i am also an iraq vet and i guess that is geared towards the older vets. sucks they dont have anything for us younger guys, but if you do end up going, please post how it went if you can. im hesitant to go, just cause i dont really do well with others in an environment like that. hope everything works out for ya

If I may add something here. As a Vietnam Veteran I can understand your comment about geared towards older Vets but remember one thing as a Vietnam Veteran and I speak for all those that I know, our mission in life is to make sure that what happened to us never happens to you guys which from here in NYC it is not happening. We Vietnam Veterans are doing all we can to assist you in every way and most whom we have spoken to tell us that. A PTSD program day hospital is geared for all Veterans and do not feel that it is noted geared for you the Iraq / Afghan Vet. You are our brothers and what ever we can as long as your willing to put one foot in front of another with us we will be here to help you. I can not speak for upstate but the day hospital here in Brooklyn is a great place occupied by all Veterans. So don't back off go and see what you can do to make it more for you the Iraq / Afghan Vet. As we die off you are the ones who will be standing in our shoes. Hang in there
