Question

A Disable Veterans friend that get all treatment from the VA hospital call the 1-800-TO CHECK ON HIS CLAIMS WHICH WAS PLACED IN 3/1/09, was told the claim was still in the beginning. VA rep told him that it will take longer due to the Vet coming from overseas are serve 1st.The VA Rep told my friend that he will put in the computer a hardship issues for him to move his claim. Have anyone heard of this. Or is this just a joke? The VA 1-800-number told Vet that his claim went to Rating on Sept.30,2009 and he should hear from the VA before Jan.2010 on his claim. I will keep the Hadit.com Vets update on this matter. Merry Xmas to all my Veterans Friends.

Maurice,

Your friend will have to send documentation in for a Hardship.

It can be Financial Hardship or Terminal Illness.

carlie

Carlie passed away in November 2015 she is missed.

Beware of VA saying they will do something always verify that it happened.

Veterans deserve real choice for their health care.

By now he might have gotten a VCAA letter.

Did he? and has he been able to send to them anything at all they have requested?

Trying to get this expedited for hardship or severe illness is one thing-but what if they expedite only to deny?

The best thing he can do is to make sure he has a proven service link to his present disabilities which he claimed.

For hardship situation he would need proof of dire financial straits or severe medical situation.

Even with all that it will take time and he moght not even be a "hardship" case in eyes of the VA.

I bet there are thousands of vets in similiar circumstances-waiting and waiting for -as their bills press on them-

If this is a stressor PTSD claim- has he gotten proof of the stressor (unless he had PH, CAR, CIB on his DD 214)

or is his disability fully presumptive?

or is this a more difficult type of claim?

Evidence is what will make the claim succeed.I hope his rep can help him support the Hardship matter but I sure would not wait for that to come through without making sure all of his evidence is with the VA.

Osceola's response to his people, the Seminoles, was

simply "They(the US Army)have guns, but so do we."

Sameo to us -They (VA) have 38 CFR ,38 USC, and M21-1- but so do we.
