VetsLady
I check our bank account each month to be sure the VA DD was done. When I have called the 1-800, (it has always, always said "Sorry we don't have your claim information, please hold on") On a whim, I phoned today and this time it gave me the last DD amount and the date it was made. It was the regular amount. Many of you know we have an ongoing appeal that has been at the AMC. I'm a realistist, and until the penny is in your pocket, it's just not there. But, I wonder, since I was told by AMC the other day, that his file was sent upstairs for rating if this is why I'm not getting the generic message. Seems like a trivial question in light of it all, and if I were giving the advise, I'd say "Relax, wait for the envelope to come and then you will know for sure" What I'm asking our fellow Veterans is if this has ever happened to them before and what was the outcome? Thank you.
HadIt.com Elder Pete53 Posted October 4, 2009 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted October 4, 2009 I think that the VA issues the order to pay and than it goes to a pay center. Mine is Austin Texas
VetsLady
My guess, or better yet, woman's intuition, whatever you want to call it..... is that "something" has occurred with his claim or the call center would not have reverted back to the message I heard. For several, several months we've have always received the "Can't access your records, claims, hold on for the next available rep......" message. Now, we're hearing a message telling us what his current DD is from VA and what date his last deposit was? Doesn't make any sense, except something has changed, not sure what and we'll know soon enough. Was picking brains but realy can only be a few different things. Granted, retro on the way, Denied SSOC, on it's way to BVA for final ok. I'm sure we'll find out soon enough. Thanks for the inputs and thoughts. VetsLady P.S. If they do grant, do they send a separate check or do they DD since that is already set-up?
VetsLady
Ok, now the recorded message is back to saying "Sorry we can't find your file" What's up with that?
HadIt.com Elder Pete53 Posted October 7, 2009 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted October 7, 2009 Another VA delaying ploy?
VetsLady
Probably. It would not surprise me.
Moderator broncovet Posted October 17, 2009 Moderator Share Posted October 17, 2009 Vets Lady: The Va does not call their "customers" PATIENTS for a reason. I think I am an IMPATIENT patient. It is easier to get it to try to stop raining than it is to hurry up the VA. It is my humble opinion that they should pay Veterans compensation with the same speed employees get their pay. If a person went to work for the VA then had to wait a year or so for the VA to "process" their paperwork, like Vets do, the employees would quit or starve to death.. And they wonder why Vets are angry while there are one million Veterans waiting and waiting on the VA to process their paperwork, and many have waited more than a year. It is not a suprise to me that Vets are angry..it is more of a suprise that Vets dont take RO employees hostage and demand that their claim be worked today before the hostages are released. I am very suprised some PTSD Vet doesnt just go get some weapons and take some hostages after being frustrated by the VA for years and loosing their home, like I did, waiting for Va benefits. Question
VetsLady
I check our bank account each month to be sure the VA DD was done.
When I have called the 1-800, (it has always, always said "Sorry we don't have your claim
information, please hold on")
On a whim, I phoned today and this time it gave me the last DD amount and the date it was
made. It was the regular amount.
Many of you know we have an ongoing appeal that has been at the AMC. I'm a realistist,
and until the penny is in your pocket, it's just not there. But, I wonder, since I was told
by AMC the other day, that his file was sent upstairs for rating if this is why I'm not getting
the generic message.
Seems like a trivial question in light of it all, and if I were giving the advise, I'd say "Relax, wait
for the envelope to come and then you will know for sure"
What I'm asking our fellow Veterans is if this has ever happened to them before and what was the
outcome?
Thank you.
