Anyone out there in hadit land gotten sleep apnea re-rated P&T?

Just so I'm not confusing the issue, I'm 50% for OSA and on a CPAP. On my original claim, the RO stated the condition could improve, therefore I am subject to future exams.

what I would like is the future exam now and to delete the "could improve"

Okay, what I really want is 100% P&T schedular for the Chapter 35 benefits for my daughter (nursing school), and possibly my son (special needs job training).

and on that note...do I need to ask for P&T on top of everthing, or will 100% schedular with nothing subject to future exams/improvement automatically give the P&T and the Chapter 35?

12R3G it depends on the type of Sleep APnea you have been diagnosed with.

If it is Obstructive then there is little hope unless you have developed the right sided heart failure or Corpumonole.

a lot of folks who have OSA and no not get treatment wind up with Pulmonary HTN which wuoud get you 100 percent P and T.

Central Sleep apnea is a different issue and can be rated permanent and total because the underlying factor is the CNS.

So sleep apnea is related to HTN, I have high blood pressure but have not filed a claim, my girlfriend tells me all the time that I stop breathing in my sleep.

I'm sure I have high blood pressures in my SMR, how would I claim this secondary to sleep apnea if I've never been diagnosed to date. If I am diagnosed would this be a stretch to file a claim with the VA? thanks

Tell your doctor you think you have sleep apnea and you would like a sleep study done. If you are diagnosed with sleep apnea then file a claim that you feel that your service connected hypertension is cause by or a result of your diagnosed sleep apnea. you will need a doctor's statement stating that sleep apnea cause or raises your high blood pressure. If I am off others will chime in.
