In Memoriam Stretch Posted November 20, 2009 In Memoriam Share Posted November 20, 2009 PCP called me today and said that I had a 4.5 cm aneurysm. He also said it hasn't changed since my last MRI several years ago. This is the first I have heard of such a thing. Says that I will have to have an operation at around 5 cm. Just when when it was safe to get back in the water. I looked it up at: http://www.emedicinehealth.com/aortic_aneu.../article_em.htm No wonder I have been passing out and falling down. Cold feet, back and chess pain, breathing problems, and all the rest of the symptoms for the last 6 years. Nice of the VA doc to say something finally huh?? Has anybody had one of these with an operation or is living with an aneurysm?????????????????

HadIt.com Elder Pete53 Posted November 20, 2009 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted November 20, 2009 Tom Mercer had the operation and was pretty active a few years ago. He lived in GA near Atlanta. I forget what his screen name was.
In Memoriam Stretch Posted November 20, 2009 Author In Memoriam Share Posted November 20, 2009 The PCP said that it was in my belly. How is that for a medical term. I will find out more tomorrow. In away I am relieved that I know something to explain all that I have been going through. The attacks started five or six years ago. I have been in emergency about 2 times each year for it. Seems like they would have told me something.

HadIt.com Elder jbasser Posted November 20, 2009 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted November 20, 2009 I think ti is called a triple A. Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm. At 5cm they will ooerate on it. Stretch, I had a friend who had the same thing done by the VA last year. He survived and is doing well. J
