ptsd Hearing For Increase In Compensation

I am scheduled for a C&P evaluation for rating purposes tomorrow at the VARO, Bay Pines, FL. Currently I am at 30% for PTSD. Things have gotten worse and I applied for an increase in compensation. What can I expect- will I be reexamined by another psychiatrist or will I see a hearing officer?

My American Legion rep said it is possible to lose my compensation and I am very afraid I might somehow say the wrong thing.

I did the same as you 2 semesters than Voc Rehab threw me a monkey wrench. It helped me intangibly and gave me back some dignity and self worth.

Yea, me too. Because I start school through voc-rehab in January.

After my second semester my new VA Councilor decided she wanted me to sign a letter acknowledging that I understood that the VA could reduce my rating cause my grades were to good. I had a 3.75 GPA. She said that was an indication that I could work. I asked her what part of rehab and school did she not understand and quit.

I have been wondering if that might happen. So far my grades are good, but I only take two classes at a time and even that is really difficult. I have already told them I might not be able to continue voc-rehab. We'll see what happens.

Wow.... Pete, thanks for the info.... my hubby is 30%, 10% ptsd, 20% left ankle....He works for the va hospital as housekeeping aid, but he is in light duty due to back injure from combat (waiting for that claim, too) .... feb 12 he has the c&p exam for ptsd increase... he is in vocational rehab, 2 nights a week, he is doing good.... question for You, did you receive a full check while in school break? next week are the final exams, then he goes back until mid January, somebody told him as long as he is already register for the next semester he should get the full amount....

He goes to vet center for counseling once a week, sees a psychiatric once a month, they both agree he is around 30 to 40% ptsd.... the counselor suggest go back to school to get some training in something he likes because my hubby has held 14 jobs since 2001, and every time he gets switch to another shift, or branch due to issues with coworkers and boss.... only in the va he is being in 8 different positions in 18 months... he was forced to step down a position last march, if not he would of lost his job. The vet center counselor believes that he should try to have his own bussiness, because working for somebody else is not working for him...

I post this in another tread buy I couldn't find it.... hope you can help...

p.s. somebody mention he took the wife to the c&p, is that allow? should I go with mine in the next c&p?
