  1. Yes, it is possible. I was awarded 100% P&T for PTSD recently. I'm 46.
  2. Sorry to hear that Gvubcd1. Are you going to appeal? I had my C&P for IU on 11/25/2014. It lasted about an hour and a half. Darn Examiner still hasn't added any notes on the C&P yet.
  3. I'm reading this document for the State of Mississippi benefits for veterans and I'm a little confused on what something means. See Below. It says "total" so does being 100% service connected suffice or could they possibly be talking about P&T? What does total mean? Hunting and Fishing Licenses Veterans who have a total service-connected disability from the Veterans Administration are not required to purchase hunting or fishing license, but must have on their person proof of age, residency and disability status while engaged in hunting or fishing. Miss. Code Ann., §49-7-5
  4. Thanks for the information. I just file for SSDI myself.
  5. Wow! I don't want mine to last that long! Good Lord! I have one coming up this Tuesday. Gvubcd1 keeps us posted on what the outcome is.
  6. Today on ebenefits my claim went from prep for decision to Closed- Decision Notification Sent. It says notification was mailed out today. So, I went into download VA letters on ebenefits and found out that I lost money. My benefit amount last month was $1,949 but this month it is $1,847 but my percentage remains at 80%. I do have a dependents claim that I filed in August of last year but the 1800 number says a decision has not been made on the dependency claim yet. How can my benefit amount drop but my percentage remains the same?
  7. Mine says the same thing as of today Squad227. Yesterday it said preparation for decision. Have you received your decision in the mail yet?
  8. Harleyman, Thanks for info. No, I haven't moved recently. Same address for the last 6 years and I am receiving correspondence from the VA about how they are still working on my claims. Last week I got a letter about if I had any addition information to submit and if I didn't to sign the document and mail it back. I hand delivered it since the VA Regional office is less than 10 minutes away. I do have pending claims that I filed this April, so I'm kind of thinking now that the deposit may be a claim has gotten approved and a deposit has been made, because my regular monthly deposits from the VA are usually not pending this early (Yesterday 7/26/2013). If that is the case, that is AWFUL quick! But again, I'm not real sure. I saw the amount of the deposit was half the size of my normal amount and associated it with being reduced. Could it possibly be a claim approved? I called the 1800 number and supposed to get a call back between 10:45 - 11 Monday morning
  9. Good evening, I have a question. My benefits were cut by about $1,100 dollars for the month of August. I have not received any kind of correspondence from the VA saying I was getting reduced or anything. So, I'm trying to figure out what the reduced payment is all about. I do have a few claims pending but haven't received any information but the famous "We are still working on your claims" letters periodically. Has anyone ever gotten a reduction without receiving any type of correspondence from the VA?
  10. I'm in the Voc-Rehab and have 3 more classes before I complete my bachelors degree. My question is , will the VA pay for me to continue my education to get a masters degree? If so, is there a certain form I will need to submit requesting an extenstion?
  11. Sometimes the clerks in ROI aren't any help at all. So... in an effort to make things easier...Would there be a list of all my diagnosis on one page in our VAMC medical records; and if so, what is it called? Thanks
  12. I know this is an old post but how did you come out on your claim with the elevated liver enzymes?
  13. Thanks yall. That clears it up. Very much appreciated.
  14. I just received an explanantion of benefits from my insurance provider Blue Cross Blue Shield for services I received at the VAMC. It says I owe the VAMC 385.85 of which BCBS did not cover. I never even gave the VAMC my insurance information and plus I am 80% service connected, so why would they bill my insurance? Has this happened to anyone else?
  15. Thanks for the replies. Yes, Pete that is what I'm talking about. I'll go by ROI and get a copy.
  16. Is it possible to get a printout of all my diagnosis from ROI? Also, is it possible to be prescribed medications for problems without being diagnosed? I have been taking high blood pressure medicines for awhile now from the VAMC but recently saw this note in my records--"Elevated blood pressure reading without diagnosis of HTN" I have also been prescribed Vardenafil (VAMC). Does that mean I have been diagnosed with ED or not? Lastly, I was given a CPAP machine after a sleep study at the VAMC. Does that mean I have been diagnosed with sleep apnea or not? I just didnt think they would give me medication to treat a condition without diagnosing me. I'm sure if I can get a copy of all my diagnosis, that will answer my questions. But until then.... Thanks all
  17. Is it possible to get a print out of all my diagnosis from ROI? Also, is it possible to be on high blood pressure medication and not be diagnosed with hypertension? I have been on HCTZ 12.5/Lisinopril 20mg for awhile now but saw this in some recent notes.."Elevated blood pressure reading without diagnosis of HTN" I also receive vardenafil from the VAMC. Does that mean I've been diagnosed with ED? One last question, I have been given a CPAP machine after a sleep study at the VAMC. Does that mean I have been diagnosed with Sleep apnea? I'm sure if I can get a printout of all my diagnosis, that will answer my questions. But until then.... Thanks
  18. Just wondering how long does it normally take for the award letter to be mailed. I received my award last week and the VARO is less than 5 miles away from my home. Most importantly, I have received the funds but I still want to see the basis for their decision. Can I get a copy if I just go to the VARO?
  19. Thanks everybody! Just checked my bank account and there is a large pending deposit . Guess that makes it official. Maybe the award letter will be here tomorrow or sometime next week. I had gotten myself into the mindset that I would have to appeal. Tottally caught me off guard with this award. So used to fighting ... you know? I want to continue working so I wont file for TDIU just yet. Thanks again yall!!
  20. I called the 1-800 number today and the guy said a decision had been made on my PTSD claim and that it was in the notification stage. He said if doesn't show what the decision is though. So I remembered someone saying in that situation ask them what your current rating is. I did and the guy said 80%!!! Thats an increase from my 60% rating. I don't know what percentage they awarded me for the PTSD though because an award of 30% or an award of 50% both would have brought me to 80%. I'll just wait on the mail to arrive. Thanks for all the valuable information and post. I certainly couldn't have done it without you guys. Its an award so why am I so nervous?????
  21. I have a dependancy claim and a PTSD claim pending. I received a phone call yesterday from the VARO asking about school information about my dependants. Went through all 5 dependants. I asked him if a decision has been made on my other claim and he said not yet. Hopefully they are getting close to making a decision.
  22. Wow! Wonder what that C&P consists of? I have been diagnosed with sleep apnea and been given the CPAP by the VAMC as well. Keep us posted on how it goes.
