All Va Fast Letters

Question

The Texas Veterans Commission (much to my joy!) has published this link to all VA fast letters.

I am posting the Nehmer Fast letter links in the AO forum here as well as well.

Fast letters in some situations could even be used as evidence if the VA fails to follow the administrative instructions in a Fast letter.

When thousands of Americans faced annihilation in the 1800s Chief

Osceola's response to his people, the Seminoles, was

simply "They(the US Army)have guns, but so do we."

Sameo to us -They (VA) have 38 CFR ,38 USC, and M21-1- but so do we.

Yeah, I can't think of any other reason the VA would take this off their website other than not wanting Vets to have access.

Good point,

Jerr

You can bet the VA does not want Veterans to have access to things like "fast letters". Its no wonder they either took it off the website, or made it much harder to find. The VA is upset with some informed Veterans, in particular, those that read hadit, Vawatchdog.org or VBN, because these Vets are not only demanding their rights, but many are helping other Veterans be informed of their rights. The VA's goal is to keep Veterans uninformed so that fewer Veterans will apply for benefits, and more will think that once the VA says something its final, and there is no appeal. Yea, sure the Va puts a notice in with the Veterans decision, but it is written by lawyers, for lawyers deliberately so that the average Veteran has no clue what it means.

Maybe James Breckinridge would have a link to them all.

Sure I do... but it's on an internal link. I read somewhere that VA is redesigning the website... I'm sure that the information will be available. Contrary to opinion, the VA is not out to keep the vets in the dark. I would rather rate a claim where the vet knew all the applicable regulations, Fast Letters, and precedential BVA/CAVC decisions than a mess of a claim where the vet has no clue what he's claiming and what special circumstances apply in his specific case.

I think the new website is in "beta" mode... if there's a contact button, why don't you use it and tell the people in charge that you want to be able to find Fast Letters, Training Letters, Decision Assessment Documents, etc on the publicly available website. They may not realize how useful it is to the veterans, and believe it's something only us internal people care about.

Why do they call them fast letters? If these are the fast ones I'd hate to see the slow ones. I never got any of these so-called fast letters. Gosh

Thanks for the Fast Letter link Berta. And thanks for the VA Face book link Wings. The comments seem to show just how disatisfied Vets are with the DVA.

VBA References Table of Contents has a link to Directives, but I didn't find it helpful.

sorry everyone-I said "ALL" but this list is only fast letters for last few years.

I agree with James here- the VA web site has a vast wealth of info and yet the site is so large that it does take time to find stuff.

I have used the VA web site almost daily for many years.

Hadit is the BEST site IMHO on the web for vets with VA claims but the VA is a close second in my book. You can feel the pulse of the BVA by reading their decisions and understanding how the BVA weighs evidence.
