HadIt.com Elder allan Posted February 2, 2010 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted February 2, 2010 (edited) Does anything that is posted with the name OBAMA come under a politacal post that needs to be closed, or is it military retiries? I know you see a need to close this topic, but I'm completely missing it. If it is the name Obama, than any thing to do with veterans should be a closed topic on this board since he's responcible for our benefits. I tried to go to the post and correct the link but the topic was closed so fast I couldn't Obama floats new concurrent receipt plan. myround0
It is sad. I posted the topic Mid year COLA increases and it was closed in minutes. I do thank the person for deleting the three subsequent topics under the same name. It was a late night mistake that lead to the numerous post. I HOPE WE DON'T BECOME TO SENSATIVE TOT HE PRESIDENT. I agree we afford him his due respect. I agree to leave politican discussion out of the forum. But, as long as we are VETS, whatever we discuss has the potential to become political. Now, the last thing i heard before I retired in 2006, was that by 2014, ever member would be given a separate check for their disabilities, even the ten percenters. Now, I just want to toss this out there, what would the effects be for all members if we were given a disability check based on our years if service, say, five grand a month, for any member who served 20 years and based on the number of years up or down, would grant your your post military disability pay. Moderator broncovet Posted February 3, 2010 Moderator Share Posted February 3, 2010 Obama posts are allowed. You are not allowed, however, to mention a popular soft drink made by Pepsi and Coke, because any post having anything to do with whether or not Veterans get a raise is closed immediately..but not sure why. So, instead of the dark colored soft drink that also means a Cost of Living Adjustment, I use the word "DR. Pepper" instead.
Moderator broncovet Posted February 3, 2010 Moderator Share Posted February 3, 2010 Allan... Yes, according to the some people, "Dr. Pepper" is determined by a magic formula, CPI-W, and has nothing to do with politics. So, if it has nothing to do with politics, why are all posts that deal with the possibility of an annual Veteran's increase in compensation all closed? HadIt.com Elder Pete53 Posted February 3, 2010 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted February 3, 2010 Bronco if you try to bait Moderators it will become painful I guarantee you. A thread may be closed for various reasons but we have asked several times in several different ways to please stop the COLA posts. For one thing it gives false hope as the best we can expect is maybe 250 bucks in lieu of COLA. Hadit is not a free speech zone. Follow the rules and the requests made by Moderators or find some place else to vent whatever political bent that you are on. This goes for everyone else. I know that if I can keep my politics to myself than so can everyone else
carlie
allan, As you can clearly see that even in letting the post stand some members make the choice to not even address the issues contained in the topic. For whatever reasons the thread has gone from, "military retirees who are eligible for concurrent receipt of full veterans disability benefits and military retired pay." to BS about COLA and posts being closed. carlie
